Geotab is seeking an Application Developer with previous experience as software developer, really love technology, be passionate about creating software, and be keen to join a leading edge technology firm!What you'll do:As an Application Developer you will be responsible for creating desktop and mobile applications, network services like proxies, bridges or web services and improving already deployed apps in several languages.
How you'll make an impact:
Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications by following Geotab coding best-practices, continuous learning and doing peer collaboration and reviews (like uploading or reviewing pull requests), ensuring that coding standards are followed and looking for logic errors and other bugs
Perform Test-Driven and Security-Driven Development
Analyze call stacks, trace files, debug logs or performance data to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of bugs
Maintain current .NET applications and/or migrate to Go language
Design and create bridges and gateways to interconnect internal applications
Provide assistance to your colleagues from a technical perspective. This may be in the form of on-call or ad-hoc questions relating to how certain features work or verifying the behaviour by reviewing code to understand requirements and build or improve tools.
What you'll bring to this role:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or any other related field
Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish
3+ .NET Core experience
Experience in Java, HTML or JavaScript is an asset
GIT/Jira experience
Linux administration knowledge
Database administration knowledge (MariaDB/PostgreSQL an asset)
Networking knowledge (ARP, DNS, TCP/UDP, HTTP, TLS, WebSockets…)
C++ experience an asset
Web security knowledge (Oauth2, JWT, CORS…) an asset
Python, perl, bash, PHP and other scripting languages an asset
