An Application Performance Test Manager is responsible for delivering and managing application performance test and quality activities for wide range of international projects/programs, ensuring those are carried out to the agreed requirements and that they comply with Audit and Regulatory standards. You will support internal initiative and actively participate during all phases of the Projects, advice IT and business on best application performance practices that protect Zurich's best interests. And define the approach and strategy, planning and estimation of effort and the leadership and control of the subsequent execution.
As an Application Performance Test Manager you will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of your assigned projects. Your main responsibilities will involve
Analyze Load & Performance Test requirements from internal customers
Prepare Performance Test Service Proposal
Identify and allocate resources
Define Performance Test Strategy and Plan for projects
Manage Performance testing activities within project(s)
Collaborate with global teams on strategy updates, planning, and investment prioritization
Manage key stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor
Ensure project compliance
Take overall accountability for project's Performance test delivery plan
Ensure that all vendors are delivering to agreed plan and managing team productivity.
Work closely with Performance test team to understand and resolve any concerns before they escalate into issues.
Analyze Infrastructure metrics / logs to detect Bottlenecks and scalability issues
Review and approve all major testing deliverables.
Provide up to date data, status and judgment on project.
Ensure estimates and assumptions still hold true and re-forecast as often as appropriate.
Ensure Stakeholders have up to date information on the project status at all times.
Ensure that standard processes and deliverables are followed and that any deviations are managed, and the risks and potential outcome of those risks communicated and accepted
Work with other Test Managers to ensure Load & Performance needs are properly identified, designed, scheduled and budgeted in their projects
Work with other Test Managers to identify new opportunities and synergies in their projects
Ensure that senior management is informed about issues before they escalate and can intervene as appropriate.
Ensure regular reporting procedures, both formal and informal, are used
Apply Quality techniques and processes throughout the Performance testing delivery lifecycle.
Prepare staffing plans, which may include staff working both on site and remotely.
Manage customer and vendor relationships
Up hold Zurich Standard processes and practices
Foster Load & Performance Testing Service and actively participate in Service Strategy Definition, Innovation and Business development.
Participate actively in Zurich Group initiatives.
Your Skills and Experience
As aPerformance Test Manageryour skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology and 4 or more years of experience in related field such a Load and Performance, Application Performance Management or similar
Experience of quality and testing technology
Experience in leading high technological and multicultural skilled teams, based in nearshore / offshore
Must have leadership experience providing Performance testing services for multiple business units, applications and protocols
Experience in Performance testing at high and low levels (User Interface and API / webservices) and embedded into CD/CI Pipelines
Strong Analytical skills: Infrastructure Monitoring Diagnostics and Bottleneck Identification
ITSQB Quality and Test Manager or similar
Knowledge of databases, middleware, web services and related standards
Proven Experience with IT and technology Governance
Positive attitude, strong communication (verbal and written) & interpersonal skills
Team player and able to create and work in a collaborative environment
Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels, including teams outside of shared services and solutions
Act as a trusted advisor for the customer by having a holistic view of the different alternatives that would provide a solution to the customer/s
High experience to discuss technical topics in business terms, including but not limited to give presentations to an audience with different level of technological maturity
Ability to think outside of the box and be innovative by keeping abreast of new trends, identifying opportunities to bring in change for business benefit
Fluent written and spoken English (additionally, German would be highly valuable)
Global, critical, innovative thinking with good presentation skills
Needs strong knowledge of QA & Performance Testing Practices. Understanding of quality management and development methodologies (SDLC) is highly valuated
MicroFocus Performance Centre and Loadrunner
Application Performance Monitoring tools in On-Prem and Cloud infrastructure (e.g. Dynatrace, Splunk, App Insights)
Experience with CI/CD tools: Bamboo, Azure DevOps or Jenkins
Nice to have
Other Load Injection tools: JMeter, Gatling, NeoLoad, Taurus
Agile Tools (TFS, JIRA, etc)
Testing automation tools (UFT, QTPro,) would be highly valuated
