JOB PURPOSE/ROLE Allianz Group is represented by Allianz Seguros in Spain and it’s one of the leading insurance companies in the Spanish territory. Allianz Seguros is also responsible for the Allianz hub in the Ibero/LatAm region regarding reinsurance and MidCorp business. In this hub regional treaty and single risk transfer is handled on SLA basis for Allianz Reinsurance. Beside UW expertise for improving the local MidCorp portfolios the hub coordinates the market strategy for the region by help of a Business Development Specialist.
The Business Development Specialist drives the regional implementation of processes, tools and marketing activities together with the OE’s underwriting, market management, and distribution functions. The MidCorp hub Business Developer reports to the local Head of MidCorp hub and coordinates his activities also with the Head of Business Development at Allianz Reinsurance.
Allianz Reinsurance runs a central (Munich) and regional MidCorp teams, owns or cooperates with regional hubs in Asia, Africa, Vienna, and Madrid. Allianz Reinsurance itself is a division of Allianz SE and is based in Munich, Singapore, Dublin, Petaluma, Bermuda and Zurich. Allianz Re mainly offers reinsurance protection, resolution management, and services for external customers as well as Allianz Entities (OE).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze the market situation and AZ market position of Commercial/MidCorp in different markets (focus: Ibero Lat/Am) both qualitatively and quantitatively.
Propose go-to-market strategies based on a sound portfolio analysis, align them with the local OEs and the central Business Development team, and support the implementation and realization.
Work with the OEs to drive the identification of growth opportunities, segmentation and development of distribution channels as well as adaption of products and risk appetite in alignment with the global setup of Allianz Re MidCorp.
Ensure that new products/services/propositions by local OE (e.g. cyber, solar, agri) are within the reinsurance frame of Allianz Re MidCorp and the Allianz Customer Model (ACM). Adapt the strategy and proposition of Alliant Seguros towards OEs accordingly.
Understand needs and expectations of distribution partners both agents and brokers in relation to MidCorp business. Liaise with regional leadership of global brokers and relevant regional brokers and/or banks to offer comprehensive solutions across the single markets.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
University degree in economics, law, engineering or business administration with insurance focus / equivalent job experience in the insurance industry
Certified and proven project management skills
Agile work-style, high level of client orientation and strong collaboration skills, the ability to work both independently in own area of expertise and cross-functional as part of a team
Absolute “can do” attitude, high degree of motivation and entrepreneurial thinking, readiness to travel. Distinctive execution capabilities go along with conceptual and analytical thinking.
Fluent English (written and spoken). Additional core market language skills (Spanish / Portuguese) would be beneficial.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Underwriting, Market Management or Broker Management; experience in market and customer research would be a plus.
Strong portfolio analytic skills with good understanding of commercial lines insurance products and the UW process; capabilities in product and proposition development including commercial underwriting experience.
Knowledge of AZ MidCorp propositions and successful go-to-market models would be advantageous.
Strong financial and business acumen, ability to analyze data from multiple sources, financial planning and controlling skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; passion for relationship and network building with the ability to flex style of interaction depending on cultures, people and matrix management responsibilities.
