Position: Experienced DevOps Engineer (Cloud / Hybrid)Within the Digital Services Department of Customer Services, the role involves designing, implementing, and operating containerized multi-cloud/hybrid environments supporting Siemens Mobility Railigent X products and services.
The engineer will work with an international team to deliver a scalable, cost-efficient, highly available hybrid-cloud platform that adapts to business needs.
The responsibilities include defining, planning, implementing, and operating automated infrastructure deployments at scale, supporting application teams in adapting AWS cloud-based applications for hybrid-cloud environments, and maintaining IaaS environments on-premises and in the cloud.
The role involves participating in proof of concepts and validating product concepts.
Applicant ProfileExperience supporting distributed business applications in an enterprise environment within an agile development context.Proactive problem solver with strong DevOps, cloud, and hybrid-cloud experience.Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to adapt and optimize processes.Fluent English; German skills beneficial.Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines, containerized services, and automation.Valued experience in Platform Engineering and designing toolchains for software engineering.Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD) highly valued.Experience with SaaS backends, REST APIs, and cloud deployment.Familiarity with databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL) and cloud providers (AWS, Azure).University degree in computer science or a related field.Essential SkillsExpertise in Containers, Kubernetes, CNCF, Linux, and open-source ecosystems.Proficiency with AWS services.Hands-on experience with ELK stack.Automation tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, GitLab.Programming skills in Python and scripting languages like Bash.Understanding of GitOps processes.Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience in system automation for scalable environments.Knowledge of CI/testing, especially GitLab-CI.Experience with Identity and Access Management protocols and providers.MLOPS and LLMOPS experience.
