Compelling customer propositions that unlock growth opportunities and maximise sustainable profit delivery

• Successfully match customer needs with Diageo opportunities to create value for us and our customers.
• New opportunities are identified for our brands within our Customers outlets and strong action plans created to increase share of category volumes
• There is a real understanding of the cost –benefit of each call and a focus on extracting maximum return from every € invested
• Customer marketing create high impact activity plans based on penetrating customer and competitor insights from the GPV

Brilliant Execution of sales activation plans

• Activities are executed in the best target outlets which maximises the return on investment
• Promotional Plans + Off Shelf visibilities are successfully executed as planned and meet the customer’s requirements
• Diageo is swifter than competitors to exploit opportunities and respond to risks and threats:
• Commercial sales drivers are delivered to our customers to ensure continued growth and strength of our key brands within key outlets

Collaborative working with customers creates competitive advantage maximising ROI of trade investment

• The most successful customers choose to work with Diageo
• Diageo brands are the brands of choice in our target outlets in the C&C?Assure Diageo’s brands distribution on the POS.
• A mixture of data, knowledge and experience informs the development of effective strategies making Diageo an indispensible partner to our C&C customers
• There are effective business relationships in place with local store managers which create business opportunities like: Extra Visibility on the POS or Ad-hoc actions such as: Serve the Best training, Tastings or On trade outlets activations.

Decision maker for: All decisions made within parameters set by Manager GPVs and KAMs and using appropriate sales tools

• Journey planning, call priorities (comply with the call and coverage targets set)
• Allocation of activity across outlets
• New business : when/where
• Deployment of selling tools - selection of best activities per outlet visited
• Customer proposition – what selling tools, propositions to utilise to best meet customer needs

Key functional capabilities for this role


• uses knowledge of customer needs and motivations within the store to drive growth


• highly organised, able to plan customer activities in line with the strategy for their Customer


• demonstrates best practice in structured selling
• can influence and negotiate effectively with store managers
• understands the impact of Diageo’s sales drivers (Quality; Distribution; Visibility; Price; Promotion; Persuasion) and executes activities according to plan to drive value for customers


• understands key metrics and uses reports to review own performance


• Acts as a voice for the outlets and represents their voice within Diageo
• Works proactively with internal colleagues and customers to deliver bottom line trading results.
