Investment Administration & Accounting (IAA) is a global service unit responsible for investment back office and accounting within the Zurich Group. We deliver to around 30 countries through a regional SLA based, shared service operating model with three dedicated client facing Centers of Excellence in 3 continents. With our 140 team members, we provide accounting & reporting service for local GAAP, Stat, Tax and Group IFRS - covering approximately 90% of Group's Own Assets. We endeavor to implement globally consistent accounting and operational procedures, provide quality services to investment management and finance teams, generate operating efficiencies, as well as develop an agile organization.
As a "Global Senior Investment Valuation Expert" you define operational best practices, policies and guidelines about all Investment Valuation / Accounting matters with a strong focus on pricing/ valuation application in a most standardized and efficient way.
You ensure global coordination, consistency and efficiency amongst our valuation models and how this links into Zurich Group Accounting Standards (IFRS, Solvency), end-to-end business processes towards our Centers of Excellence and investment sub ledger systems.
Acts as a force of global coordination and global process ownership of all Core functional valuation processes and nearby accounting considerations.
Defines and reviews valuation models amongst complex financial instruments through shaping our valuation policy, pricing hierarchy in compliance with all internal and external regulations and stakeholders.
Takes functional business lead in reviewing valuation models and applications of our vendors and outsourcing partners to grant smooth BAU handover incl. documentation and governance aspects.
Oversees the investment valuation function globally by leading a valuation forum/ working group and proposes continuous improvement actions.
Analyzes upcoming changes in standards & policies and how being impacted.
Ensures compliant set-up and implementation across organization and sub ledger system SAP FAM.
Designs, reviews and refines processes, controls, functionality and models, by identifying and applying practical best practices and guidance. Designs processes, considering industry standards. Considers technology solutions which minimize impacts/ limitations from an end user perspective. Reviews and approves process changes, leads communication to drive the change and oversees adaptation across all delivery teams.
Develops and build good relationships with key stakeholder such as Group IM, APG, Group Finance and data vendors.
Drives standardization and automation to any extend feasible, measures progress and performance by KPIs.
Maintains core process documentation along our documentation standards/ tools.
Your Skills and Experience
As a Global Senior Investment Valuation Exper t your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Degree in Quantitative Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics. Strong mathematical background and/or postgraduate CFA designation (all levels) is a must.
5 years' of experience in investment operations / valuations / finance demonstrating excellent capabilities in:
Financial instruments accounting standards (IFRS13, IFRS9)
Investment sub ledger systems/ processes (SAP FAM would be an advantage)
Understanding financial markets, products, risks & hedging strategies, regulations
Communication, negotiation and presentation
Passionate self-working, very result oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
Analytical and conceptual thinking/ transformation
Managed/ lead of 3-5 mid-size projects or optimization initiatives or played key role in there
Fluent English in written and oral (proficiency level)
Advanced understanding of financial mathematics/ quantitative finance
Knowledge in Bloomberg tools for pricing (BVAL, OTC, MARS) will be an advantage
Strong in Excel, Word, Power point
