Diageo is the world's leading premium drinks company with an outstanding collection of brands across spirits, beer and wine. Our spirit brand portfolio includes brands like Tanqueray and Gordon’s gin, J&B, Cardhu and Johnnie Walker whiskey, Don Julio & Casamigos tequila, Smirnoff, Cîroc and Ketel One vodka, Bulleit bourbon, and Captain Morgan, Cacique and Zacapa rum.

We’re currently seeking for a temporary replacement for our Iberia Off-Trade Channel Director (Madrid based) whilst our permanent employee is on temporary undetermined leave.

Key outcome: Deliver a compelling off trade channel strategy and customer plans maximize sustainable profit delivery and market share growth of our spirit brands

•Differentiated customer plans are grounded in insight in order to deliver plan financial performance (customer contribution, CCF, market share growth), putting category drivers in the center of our activation plans
•Execute a clear Net Revenue Management strategy in place to develop price-mix to reach our F19 target, balancing tactical options and choices including game-changing innovation commercialized brilliantly by our customers
•There is a significant increase in customer satisfaction and willingness through agility and strategic relationships from supply chain to in-store execution and evaluation, extracting value at every step of the value chain

Brilliant Execution of differentiated customer plans: Expert business performance management using a range of metrics to be aware of current status, identify key areas of focus, assess alternative and take decisive action to course correct where necessary.

Decision maker for Off Trade Channel and customer strategies: Determines customer role / activity plans / investment profile in order to deliver country’s financial year’s plan

Business Performance Management: Defines best view forecast & forward investment plan for the channel including innovation plans by customer

Pricing & Promotional effectiveness: Implementation of pricing corridors & promotional tramlines within accounts

Customer Value chain management: Uses S&OP process (forecast accuracy/demand planning) and OTC processes in order to manage cost and maximize value

Budget accountability on: commercial investment, sales drivers, distribution costs and overheads

Externally focused customer strategy development and execution: Deep understanding of what is important to our customers and use this insight to drive the creation and execution of a clear and powerful commercial plan acting both proactively and reactively when required

Brilliant Execution: Deep understanding of where and how to maximize ROI whilst delivering for our customers, balancing short and long term performance goals

What are we’re looking for
•A strong and broad track record in senior commercial management with significant Tier 1 / Tier 2 account management experience including leading strategic planning with customers and P&L accountability. FMCG experience would be a plus
•Advanced negotiation skills, strategic mindset and in depth understanding of distributors, key customers and competitors and shoppers/consumers
•Strong team management experience: able to coach of both functional and leadership capability development in commercial leaders
•Spanish native and advanced level of English are key for the success in this role
•Madrid based
