Position OverviewOur company is searching for an experienced IT Supervisor who can maintain the computing infrastructure of the plant and ensure a high system availability and data security.
The ideal candidate will be able to manage our computer platforms, while looking for ways to grow our networks in a cost-effective way to meet future needs.
The IT Supervisor will be responsible for creating annual budgets.
He will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing the computer-related projects and tasks within the plant he works for.
he will helps define the goals and targets of that plant, IT-wise.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure
• Manage information technology and computer systems and evaluate the computer and technological needs of the plant
• Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting local infrastructure.
• Work closely with corporate IT teams to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the network and local IT equipment
• ensure that the correct metrics and KPI are in place.
Backup, DRP & Security
• Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
• Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides support when necessary.
• Responsible for creating and administering disaster recovery plans that will keep the plant functional in the event of a crisis
• Implements network security at the local level as established by corporate security Team.
Telephony
• Manages and develops upgrades to the plant’s telephone system.
• Oversees all telephone changes.
Help Desk
• Ensure all local help desk activities (hardware and software) through our tracking software.
• Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.
• Develop innovative network troubleshooting methods that reduce downtime and lower repair costs
Asset Management & Budget
• Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.
• Manages the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT supplies at the local level.
• Ensures that site assets are maintained responsibly.
• Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
Leadership, Management & Communication
• Initiates and implements improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
• Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to superiors.
• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Client Management
• Manages day-to-day internal client (employees) interaction
• Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client (employees) satisfaction
Internal Operations & compliance
• Enforce and monitor compliance with company policies on the use of computers, internet, and data.
• ensure compliance defined by corporate governance standards
• Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures
Skills
CFGS / IT University degree
Requires 5+ years’ experience.
Proven working experience as an IT supervisor or relevant experience
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Availability to handle changing priorities, deal with ambiguity and use good judgment in stressful situations.
An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Excellent organizational skills
When glitches or system breakdowns occur, it is part of the IT supervisor tasks to be available, to diagnose and solve the problems. Thus, evening or weekend work may be possible, especially where the establishment operates around the clock.
