The Lead Planning and Coordination Manager will be in synch with the IT SteerCo, Business/IT Stakeholders and confirm any changes in priority, ability to deliver on time and schedule unplanned items. That means communication skills are super important - especially directed to Sr. Managers and Executives (making sure everyone is briefed with the right message keeps us all in good shape).
In addition to ensuring the roadmap is order - this role keeps our budget straight. Each item that is approved at SteerCo comes with a rough idea of what it will cost to get delivered. All of these approved items will ultimately become part of our Technology Development budget that needs to be tracked and kept up to date.
Another key part of the role is making sure we have the right sized teams to get our work delivered. Tracking capacity and matching that to our roadmap will provide the answer. This is a clear calculation based on data - however to really make a difference you will need to have strong relationships with system leads, partners, testers, freelancers etc… working directly with each team will always be more accurate and provide better insights. We need a strong people person, a leader and negotiator to make it work.
