The Manager, EHS Compliance Assurance & Governance will provide leadership and oversight for the EHS compliance assurance activities and initiatives in the EMEA region, establishing strong working relationships with business and plant locations. The Manager, Compliance Assurance will report directly to the Global Director, EHS Compliance Assurance & Governance.
The Manager, EHS Compliance Assurance & Governance will focus on improving compliance at facilities and interacting with EHS regulatory agencies, including EHS audits, Self-Assessment implementation, and the annual Assurance Letter processes.
Position can be based in one of the following locations:
+ France - Gennevilliers
+ France - Lille
+ Spain - Azuqueca De Henares
+ United Kingdom - Manchester
+ Bachelor's degree in safety management, environmental sciences, engineering, or technical field.
+ 8 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environment
+ Minimum of 5 years in leadership positions including people management
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively influence at all organizational levels through clear, concise and impactful verbal and written communication skills.
+ Outstanding platform and presentation skills.
+ Possesses aptitude for intelligent risk taking and a strong ethical framework, enabling efficient and effective decision making.
+ Demonstrated ability to impact leadership, establish strategic direction and manage resources required for goal achievement.

Travel and Other Requirements:
+ 40% Travel
+ The position will provide Exide with direct visibility to regulatory compliance challenges to ensure proper leadership engagement and rapid response to EHS compliance needs.
+ Implements EHS standards, provide technical assistance on EHS issues, and partner with the business on compliance, project management, and EHS management issues.
+ Supports the Corporate EHS governance processes including the assurance letter, compliance initiatives, governmental reporting, and best practice exchanges.
+ Participates in the development of corporate initiatives.
+ Partners with business and site leaders to integrate the culture of EHS ownership, performance and compliance.
+ Measures key metrics that drive the effectiveness of EHS compliance assurance across Exide.
+ Requires communication and integration across multiple functions within Exide, regulatory agencies, external consultants, and other stakeholders and interested third parties on a global basis.
+ Requires integration of management systems and standards into multiple sites and the application of knowledge to a changing/fast moving environment.
+ Supports the establishment of goals, objectives, metrics and scorecards to assure integration and consistent deployment of standards and systems across Exide.
+ Establishes effective working relationships with all internal customers to identify the current state of EHS performance, risks, issues, and needs.
+ Supports EHS strategies to fill compliance and performance gaps in support of the business strategic plan.
+ Deployment of the EHS compliance assurance plan.
+ Participates on Corporate EHS Audit Teams, in support of the Corporate EHS Performance Auditing Program.
