Your role

The role is an operational role to perform all activities of Application management processes. This means to ensure the stability of the application services, taking all needed actions for give solutions to all problems related that could raise, within the shortest time possible.

As a Data Management Engineer , you will have to coordinate all the communications with the different entities involved like Business, L2 teams, DXC... . acts as a subject matter expert for support area and be the reference as a DBA service for the IT OCC team.

As an Operations Data Management Engineeryour main responsibilities will involve:
Investigates and analyses incidents to restore a failed IT Service as quickly as possible.

Resolves Incidents within the specified Service Level Agreements / Operational Level Agreements.

Performance management and tuning. SQL code reviews and walk-th.Dealing with performance. The role must be able to proactively monitor the database environment and to make changes to data structures, SQL, application logic or the DBMS subsystem to optimize performance. Constant monitoring and address long running queries to 3rd level to improve the stability of the system.

Ensuring availability.Applications and data increasingly are required to be up and available 24x7. The DM engineer must be able to ensure data availability using non-disruptive administration tactics.

Capacity planning.As data consumption and usage continue to grow, the DM engineer must be prepared to support more data, more users, and more connections. The ability to predict growth based on application and data usage patterns and to implement the necessary database changes to accommodate the growth is a core capability of the DBA.

General systems management and networking skills.Because once databases are implemented, they are accessed throughout the organization and interact with other technologies, the DBA must be a jack of all trades. Doing so requires the ability to integrate database administration requirements and tasks with general systems management requirements and tasks (like job scheduling, network management, transaction processing, and so on).

Knowledge mgmt.Documents troubleshooting steps, service restoration details and creates and submits knowledge articles. He/she works with the Knowledge Manager on the validation of the content.

Automation and root cause investigations.The DM engineer focus 40% of her/his time to implement improvements and eliminating manual activities.

Support L2/L3 teams for Incident resolution and analysis.

Coordination / communication between shareholders/suppliers.

Your Skills and Experience

As an Operations Data Management Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Studies: Graduated in IT degree or equivalent.

Experience: 3 -5 years in IT ops or DBA.

Experience in operating an application or platform.

Structured way of working, solution-oriented and hands-on approach.

Team spirit and focus on high quality service.

Proactive personality with very good communication skills.

Fluent in English, optional Spanish and German.
