Senior Performance Test Engineer
A Senior Performance Test Engineer is responsible for delivering all Application Performance Test activities within the projects assigned according to best practices and market standards. You will support internal initiative and actively participate during all the phases of the projects, playing the role of technical lead, validating test approach, test executions and output for all projects (infrastructure usage, bottlenecks, etc)
As a Senior Performance TestEngineeryou will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of your assigned projects. Your main responsibilities will involve
Lead Technical Direction of Performance Testing Solutions applied to the projects assigned
Definition, preparation, execution and reporting of Technical Proofs of Concept and projects
Analyze Load & Performance Test requirements from internal customers
Support on Performance Test Service Proposal Preparation from technical point of view
Review estimates and assumptions to ensure that they still hold true and reforecast as often as appropriate.
Support the Preparation of staffing plans, which may include staff working both on site and remotely.
Define Performance Test Strategy and Plan for projects
Analyze Infrastructure and application metrics / logs to detect Bottlenecks and scalability issues
Review all major testing deliverables from Technical perspective
Guarantee Load & Performance technical methodologies are correctly applied on all project phases following standards
Along with Application Performance Manager, r esponsible for defining, implementing and managing L&P Innovative Services' Methodologies, focusing on API, DevOps, Agile, CD/CI frameworks
Work closely with Performance test team to understand and resolve any concerns before they escalate into issues.
Accountable for Load Injection Infrastructure Platform's Set-up, Maintenance, Upgrading and Improvement Plan (Hardware, Load Injection Tools, licensing) to ensure its efficiency and scalability to provide best service to all customers
Lead and act as technical advisor for the team on Application Performance Monitoring tools
Ensure Stakeholders have up to date information on the project status at all times.
Work with other Test Managers to ensure Load & Performance needs are properly identified, designed, scheduled and budgeted in their projects
Work with other Test Managers to identify new opportunities and synergies in their projects
Act as a trusted advisor in Performance testing practices
Your Skills and Experience
As a Senior Performance Test Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology and 4 or more years of experience as Application Performance Engineer or similar
Strong Technical Skills: Management skills nice to have
Strong Analytical skills: Infrastructure Monitoring Diagnostics and Bottleneck Identification
Previous experience in definition of Performance Testing methodologies applied to DevOps / CD/CI frameworks
Good knowledge of databases, middleware, web services and related standards
Experience with IT Governance
Positive attitude, strong communication (verbal and written) & interpersonal skills
Team player and able to create and work in a collaborative environment
Act as a trusted advisor for the customer by having an holistic view of the different alternatives that would provide a solution to the customer/s
Ability to discuss technical topics in business terms, including but not limited to give presentations to an audience with different level of technological maturity
Ability to think outside of the box and be innovative by keeping abreast of new trends, identifying opportunities to bring in change for business benefit
Fluent written and spoken English (additionally, German would be highly valuable)
Must have experience providing services for multiple business units and participating in cross cultural teams
ITSQB Foundation Level
Needs strong knowledge of QA & Testing Practices and understanding of quality management and development methodologies (Traditional & Agile) is highly valuated
MicroFocus Performance Centre and Loadrunner (3-4 years)
Other Load Injection tools: JMeter, Gatling, NeoLoad
Application Performance Monitoring tools in On-Prem and Cloud infrastructure (Dynatrace, Splunk, App Insights)
Agile Tools (TFS, JIRA, etc)
Experience with CI/CD tools: Bamboo, Azure DevOps or Jenkins would be highly valuated
