Senior System Engineer
for our location in Madrid, Spain
In this role you will develop, maintain and provide support to all Rail Control Solution Division, systems/products used in the projects; creating solutions which insure the highest customer value and satisfaction.
You will act as the bridge between the users of the system (external or internal customers), the developers (including HW and SW Designers, Testers and Validators) and the safety assessors.

Responsibilities:

• Defining system requirements, architecture, definition of system context and interfaces, create technical concepts.
• Supervise and support in products adaptation, verification and validation, installation, test and maintenance;
• Support some other systems in all their lifecycle phases: development, realization, maintenance and obsolescence.
• Take over the new products/features then introduce them to the application engineers and into the old and new markets.
• Support and conduct hazard and risk analyses, failure mode effects and criticality analyses, analyse non-conformities.
• Appropriate documentation on all required levels pertaining to both product and process
• Creation and negotiation of technical concepts, support product owner and product management with technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent knowledge and/or experience working with requirement management, system engineering, product development, preferably for Railway Signalling and ERTMS systems. INCOSE certification is considered a plus;
• Relevant experience working with requirements, specifications and documentation of complex technical systems.
• Excellent knowledge and/or experience in Railway Signalling safety, ERTMS and railway CENELEC is mandatory.
• Good knowledge of product lifecycle management and product installation techniques. Be experienced in product obsolescence management.
• Knowledge on Communications and Cybersecurity applied to Railway Signalling systems.
• Strong experience working with SW and HW, preferably in Railway Signalling.
• Knowledge of job-specific tools (DOORS, Primavera, Linux, Eclipse, UML, MIL-STD 498, C, C ++, others may apply) and use of the laboratory instrumentation and test methods is an advantage.
• Spanish and English language skills required; French and/or Italian is considered a plus
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, accuracy skills.
• Willingness to travel (nationally and international).
