Responsible for defining strategic direction and developing policies and procedures designed to achieve the highest level of revenue recovery from classification inspections and weight validation. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Recruit, select, train, develop and motivate staff of managers 2. Ensure compliance with National Motor Fright Classification (NMFC) as well as FedEx policy 3. Responsible for all functions of the Freight Analysis process4. Develop and deliver Freight Analysis training materials, manuals, policies, and procedures. 5. Investigate, identify, and address opportunities for improvement of shipment characteristics 6. Support Sales and Operations in all aspects of Freight Analysis and weight validation functions, including education and conflict resolution for both internal and external customers7. Analyze statistical reports to monitor success in all Freight Analysis and weight validation processes8. Control expenses for Freight Analysis activities and provide solutions for cost reduction9. Provide research to National Motor Freight Transportation Association (NMFTA) regarding freight analysis and NMFC10. Participate in cross-functional interaction with Sales and Operations employees including driver rides, sales rides and assisting in sales calls as required11. Lead special assignments or special projects12. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures13.
