This role is critical to meeting objectives to meet & improve Launch Performance and Current production parts Quality.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Direct, monitor and review supplier APQP activities (control plans, PFMEA, process flow, SPC, run at rate, PPAP, etc.) and ensure processes are completed to AAM standards and are delivered on-time.Assist suppliers in problem solving effectiveness including root cause analysis through implementation of corrective actions.Conduct supplier assessments / audits as per AAM standards.Support AAM Plant on the issues related to suppliers.Support AAM Plant to support external audits as such as IATF 16949 or customer audits.Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance and continuously improve quality and process and achieve cost reduction targets.Lead supplier APQP kick-off meetings and supplier design reviews.Attend Program launch meetings & reviews. Can highlight concerns and escalate issues as necessary.Participate, as needed, on AAM Teams and effectively interact with other AAM technical departments and Assembly Plant personnel to find creative solutions to constraints.This position requires travel – Could be up to 50 %.Expected to identify risks / potential failure modes in supplier processes and develop risk mitigation plans.Qualifications:Must have at least eight years directly related experience, including experience in supplier / OEM environment.Experienced with manufacturing processes and production environments. (Automotive).Experience in bearings, stampings, mechanical components, and heat treatment preferred.Understands interpretation and application of global quality standards (IATF-19649 and VDA 6.3).Ability to conduct supplier assessments (Audits), complete and analyze APQP/PPAP/Capability data.Effective in working with a global team.Knowledge and application of Value Engineering, Lean and Six Sigma is a plus.Must be highly motivated, able to multi-task, set priorities and be goal oriented.Knowledge of reading drawings (GD&T).Education:Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent required. (Desired Ind.
