The SVO Manager leads the team devoted to Wind Turbine systems modeling and System Value Optimization assessment for New Products, Cost-out programs and Fleet support. He/she manages and develops the team aligning to Business program needs and defines roadmap for continuous improvement in methods and tools in close collaboration with the CTO team. The SVO manager is also responsible for introducing process related improvements re. interfaces with the design teams.
Demonstrates accountability for functional and business objectives, centered on leading LC SVO team to achieve specific goals in load simulation for LC GE turbines. Ranging from new product specification, development and validation, to support on fleet issues
Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer/program needs. Manages the team resources adapting to the LC segment business needs, finding synergies with other functions, segments and CTO
Provides solutions in the field of simulation, operability or system trade-off recommendation to optimize the cost of energy by reducing design driving loads and maximizing the energy capture
Promote and execute methodology improvement in alignment with other segments and CTO activities, but also for LC segment specific needs, driving simplification in the systems modeling, loads simulation and documentation, component checks and certification efforts
Drives resolution of technical challenges to support the certification process along the chain from system modeling to experimental validation
Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel. Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning. Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling
Maintains a technology roadmap to provide technical solutions supporting the LC product plan, by leveraging the cross segment MGTP activities and identifying potential external collaborations
Collaborate with wind farm engineering team and provide solutions to enhance application space
Master degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
In depth knowledge on aeroelasticity, system dynamics and fatigue loading assessment
Experience in simultaneous engineering new product development processes.
Expert knowledge of Wind turbine aero elastic simulations (Flex5, Bladed etc.)
Effective problem identification and solving ability.
Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Strong interpersonal skills, leading and influencing skills and a positive energy
Significant aeroelastic simulation experience for Wind Turbines

Wind turbine system design experience
