We have an exciting opportunity for a Talent Manager to join our Talent and Capability team within the Talent, Resourcing & Learning function (TRL).
The team is focused on supporting Centrica to identify and develop colleagues to meet future capability requirements. We support our senior leaders to build the skills and behaviours our workforce will need to meet the future demands of the business and provide advice on how they close capability gaps through the recruitment and development of talent. To deliver this service, we focus our efforts on a suite of talent management tools and processes including; Organisational Capability Reviews, high potential identification and development, succession planning, Executive Leadership development, Career Development and Emerging Talent.
In this role, your key stakeholders will include the Senior Executive Group (Centrica’s top 40 leaders), Centrica Executive Committee (CEC) and HR Partners and you will work directly with the wider Talent, Resourcing and Learning team to deliver key talent initiatives.
We are looking for individuals who are experienced in providing talent management advice and solutions to senior leaders. Experience or qualifications in any of the following is of particular interest to us for this role: Organisational behaviours/psychology; human capital analytics and/or business partnering/consulting.
The Job role:
The role will be aligned a business or functional area and support the Capability Director, local HR and the business Leadership Team by:
Helping to define the talent and capability requirements of the business/function and support the design and implementation of appropriate talent management interventions
Managing the annual talent identification and review cycle. This would include Talent Brokering, Succession Planning, identification of high-potential employees, assessment of flight risks and the completion of employee Talent Cards to drive improved insight into the capability of our workforce
Monitoring the effectiveness of ‘Business As Usual talent management within the business, providing specialist insight, analysis and recommendations to continuously improve the approach.
Strengthening and diversifying talent pipelines to business critical and leadership roles. This would include the implementation of high potential programmes, coaching, 360 degree feedback, scoping and delivery of Emerging Talent requirements and embedding Group-wide D&I initiatives to promote the attraction and successful development of diverse talent
Advising on how to maximise talent and capability growth opportunities as well as to manage potential risk, within business change and transformation programmes
The role will also have Group-wide accountabilities in relation to:
Benchmarking and developing the senior leadership population; including succession plan deployment leadership assessment and development and implementation of initiatives to drive increased diversity in leadership roles
Developing materials and providing expert and influential guidance to HR stakeholders on talent management related matters along with roll-out of new talent management products and solutions
Actively up-skilling and improving collaboration across the HR teams and key line manager groups to strengthen talent management across Centrica
Partnering one of Centrica’s D&I Employee Networks; supporting the network committee to develop and deliver their strategy, manage the budget, and enrich senior sponsorship, as well as to promote and share best practice with the wider Talent, Learning and Resourcing team.
A proven collaborator with the ability to influence senior management
A track record of supporting business leaders to identify, develop and deploy talent
Experienced in researching, developing and implementing progressive talent models and interventions
Comfortable using data to drive insight and decision making
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Comfortable and productive in ambiguity
Pro-active, resilient, motivated and results oriented
Proven experience delivering projects within a large complex matrix organisation
Specialist knowledge and/or experience in organisation behaviour/psychology, human capital analytics or talent consulting would be desirable.
