Sage is looking for a VP of Product Management, based out of our Barcelona office, that will be accountable for dreaming up knock-out products, with innovative technology, that customers cannot live without. This role is instrumental to leading Sage’s cloud first strategy, delivering our products worldwide. The VP of Product Management will have aggressive targets for their chosen product set or segment and will drive revenue, profit, customer acquisition, partners and growth as a business. Our mission is to win in the market with the world’s best products, marketing and channels. The competition is fierce, the customer demands more in functionality, usability and compliance.
The VP of Product Management is responsible for defining and leading the execution of best-in-market product. Responsible for leading end-to-end product innovation processes from ideation through product/feature launch. Accountable for supporting growing revenue, increasing operational efficiency, defining roadmaps and executing implementation plans to get the right service, to the right customer, at the right price, time, quality, cost and complexity. A thought leader in both qualitative and quantitative market research activities to define and validate customer needs and challenges. He/she will represent a deep understanding of the needs of the customer and the market and drive requirements into the global product strategy, vision and roadmap. They will be the face of the product, own the product roadmap and evangelize the product internally and externally. They will be a great influencer and team player to ensure the needs are heard and road mapped, whilst at the same time understanding the wider Sage strategy and direction.
Key activities include:
Understand customer and market needs. Contribute customer, product and market knowledge to inform decisions on product vision and strategy
Translate market requirements into technical requirements for engineering teams
Develop and Align the product roadmap with the product strategy
Responsabilidades principales Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Create, define and articulate compelling product vision & strategy for the product set
Analyse needs of end users (consuming products and services) to build the product vision and strategy for the platform
Build and maintain a roadmap that is aligned with the vision and strategy
Understand and analyse market offerings and competitor capabilities
Adhere to product management methodology for roadmap definition, documentation, communication, and governance
Build and develop a product management team worldwide
Own the end to end commercial success of the product or category – delivering targeted revenues
Align product strategy with other Sage products and ensure adherence to corporate strategy
Define, articulate and manage product requirements through the team. Ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders in particular Engineering/XD, product marketing, marketing, country leaders, channel managers, finance, FP&A, country commercial leads, executives
Lead product governance on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. This is a crucial part of the role which ensures that the program of work associated with [product name] is executed in order to achieve the KPIs set for the product: P&L, NPS, growth by region and by channel, and so forth.
Deliver the product – be accountable for the delivery of the product from requirement to usage and in-life management
Be the voice and the mission of the product inside and outside Sage, outside to include analysts, customers and partners/accountants, and conference/industry event communications where detailed product knowledge is required
Create, maintain and communicate product roadmaps monthly; perform and document change management in lock step with process
Adopt rigor in all activity including use of tools, processes and methodologies such as JIRA, Agile
Balance competitive advantage, customer need and pure innovation
Leadership and Subject Matter expertise in Product Management; you will have spent 10+ years building world-class software products
