oversight of energy market trading activities, internal auditing of market positions taken by others to ensure that they adhere to the company's risk management policy, and providing general guidance to the business and customers on topics relating to wholesale energy market dynamics, strategy, and competitiveness.. This role manages the day to day activities as well as long term strategic activities in merchant energy markets. Regular duties include but are not limited to:Managing short and long term positions in energy markets in accordance with established risk management procedures and policiesRegularly reporting market exposure and risk factors to senior managementAssisting the real time desk in the management of dayahead and real time market positions based on resource availabilityAssisting the Risk Management Committee in the evaluation of customer proposals, market positions, and trading strategiesAdvising the Market Operations, Solutions, and Customer Success teams on both internal and external market strategies, trends, and potential changesParticipating in periodic internal audits of market activity to ensure adherence to the company's policies and proceduresReconciling settlements with internal records and challenging market invoices when requiredAssisting Product Management with the design of market interactive software features. Qualifications would include:Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical or computer engineeringPrior experience managing market positions for demand response and front of the meter resources in multiple US wholesale marketsOperational experience and associated training dispatching demand response and wholesale resourcesDemonstrated organization and communication skills with very good attention to detailAt least ten years of experience in the energy industry.
