The Automation Team Lead role is integral to the Information Technology domain, serving as the link in driving automation initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and productivity across the different operational areas in the organization. Leading a team of automation specialists and 3 rd parties, the scope includes the conception, development, and deployment of automation solutions tailored to streamline processes. The Automation team lead acts as a mentor, providing guidance and support to their team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technological standards.
The Team Lead should have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of automation assets and being the link with the different operational groups. The role requires high level of understanding of technical concepts. You will be part of a large multi-national organization working with an array of sites, platforms and applications.
The Automation Team Lead collaborates closely with stakeholders across various operational departments to identify opportunities for automation adoption. By understanding the intricacies of operational workflows and business requirements, they orchestrate the design and implementation of bespoke automation strategies.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Director to highlight and recommend changes to boost team performance and team structural changes.Work with Director to build the Automation department strategy.Responsible for the automation resource management to deliver committed work including internal and external resources.Manage task priorities for the team members and make sure they are completed on time.Own the team backlog and roadmap.Lead the conversation with the different stakeholders like IT, Marketing Ops, Customer Service, Commercial alignment of the solutions with the company standards. DRI role for different work streams to be assigned to TL and Senior Engineers.Researches and plans for any software development solution which may enable greater performance, feature enhancements, stability, automation and Toil reduction for any of the tasks performed by the teams in the organization.Drive automation software incidents root cause investigations and improvements.Stays abreast of key industry best practices related to automation, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and software development and ensure they appropriately assimilate into the improvement initiatives.Ensure change management process is followed for all changes.Define and lead the team to best practices.Manage team on-call rota.Act as people manager in aspects like holidays, rota calendar, and contribution to performance reviews, etc.Work with engineering team to estimate, plan and design automation solutions.Mentor the team supporting collective growth, knowledge sharing and leading members to express their talent and to reach business goals.Articulate technical and business concepts to different audiences and be able to influence technical decisions with solid metrics collection and proof of concepts.Be responsible of the quality of the deliverables of the team. Provide feedback and intervene where quality expectations are not met.Drive changes both at technical and ways-of-working levels.RequirementsAt least 5 years' experience in leading a multidisciplinary and distributed technical team with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.Experience working with critical systems that require high availability levels and support high loads.Experience working with standard procedures, change control and under Agile frameworks.Experience in standardization and systems automation.Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail.Experience in project management is a plus.Experience working with Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu/Debian) in a large-scale operations, distributed Linux production set-up and Infrastructure concepts.Experience working with multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments.Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, ArgoCD and Spinnaker.Experience with Python and scripting. Nice to have knowledge in Golan and other languages such as Java or Ruby is a great plus.Knowledge using automated configuration management systems like Ansible andKnowledge working with Robotic Process Automation software( RPA )Ability to work well under pressure.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.Great communication, presentation, interpersonal and teamwork skills.Must be able to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.#J-18808-Ljbffr
