Document Controller - SpainWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our growing team in Northern Spain.Project Description:Our client is building a state-of-the-art gigafactory for cathode active materials for electric vehicles in Northern Spain.This project represents a significant step forward in the European battery materials market. As a Document Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the project by managing all documents throughout the various construction phases, from permitting to ongoing maintenance.Responsibilities:Implement and manage document control procedures to facilitate the efficient transfer of documents within Umicore's document management system.Conduct thorough quality checks on all formal documents to ensure strict adherence to Umicore's Information Management standards.Modify and update documents and drawings as needed, in accordance with technical specifications and contract deliverables.Maintain, gather, electronically log, and distribute various engineering documents.Create and maintain organized filing systems for drawings and project correspondence.Perform quality checks on incoming documents, ensuring proper metadata, template usage, and eligibility for distribution.Review the quality of documents and drawings, including metadata, templates, and eligibility.Build and maintain a library of document templates, contact lists, distribution lists, presentation templates, and tracking logs.Collaborate with contractors to track information requiring approval, update colleagues on progress, and maintain accurate status updates.Technical Requirements:Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Records/Information Management, or a related field.Experience with data entry, file compilation, and project document distribution.4-5 years of experience in document control, preferably within a construction or engineering environment.Proven experience working with various document management systems.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Excellent organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Fluency in both English and Spanish.Non-Technical Requirements:Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability and willingness to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Decisiveness and strong judgment skills.Critical thinking skills.Location:The exact location within Northern Spain will be disclosed by early July.Remote work will be available until the end of 2024, with onsite work (2 years) required thereafter.Business Travel:Occasional business travel will be required.
