EDPR´s strategy pretends to continue with the development and construction of more projects worldwide.Given the growth ambition, a well-planned Solar procurement strategy is crucial for its success, and hence EDPR is embarking on a strategic global sourcing effort lead by Global Procurement team, together with the introduction of an operating model aimed at achieving strong long-term partnerships with selected world class highly qualified suppliers of Solar: PV Modules, Inverters and trackers.The Global Procurement Solar Associate will play a key role to contribute in the development and execution of such ambitious strategy, aiming for the long-term global sourcing of Solar main equipment.The Global Procurement Solar Associate will assist the Solar Procurement Manager in any necessary initiatives and Solar procurement activities for a given region(s) of responsibility. This will include supporting and executing end to end tender processes and negotiations, involvement in transversal tasks such as process & procedures definition-implementation and building up strategic info data bases.This Global Procurement Solar Associate will create a sustainable competitive advantage for the company and maximize value throughout the development of a wide range of relationships with the suppliers, relevant market/industry stakeholders and the internal areas of EDP organization.MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIESDrive and support the Procurement Manager Solar in all strategic initiatives towards the goal of achieving long-term partnerships with suppliers.Procurement Processes Execution of RFIs, RFPs/RFQs and any necessary bid process to evaluate product options and select the right supplier for a given project or set of projects.Manage negotiations regarding purchase Solar supply agreements (Global Frame Agreements, Solar Supply/Warranty/O&M contracts, etc), involving as required other EDP areas.Compliance with EDP internal approval processes and guidelines (procurement committees, formal capex approval systems, integrity due diligences, etc)Relationship Management Contribute to develop a close network with all solar industry players and stakeholders having an impact on EDP Solar business, including current and potential entrant suppliers (provide strategic market intelligence).Cross-functional support/interaction/relationships with other EDP areas, playing a pivotal role: Legal – close interaction for support and full alignment on any binding contractual agreements, including the development of standardized processes and templates for all contracting efforts.Business Development – Share information about solar technology evolution; regular interactions about projects' development to define the Solar sourcing strategy.Technology - monitor/evaluate new solar technologies, mitigate risks, validate new suppliers through Technical Due Diligence, get assistance and validation on contract management for technical issues, provide and receive guidance on suppliers' technical aspects and new trends.Construction – Supply agreement liaison, support on on-going issues during the project execution phase, Return on Experience on suppliers' performance, get support from the area for improved contract management.Operations & Asset Management – Return on Experience on suppliers performance and main issues, get support from the area for improved contract management.M&A – Work on financial model, obtention of detailed LCOEs, interaction to identify Solar CAPEX-OPEX targets, support to help close M&A deals with any Solar related matters.Origination – regular contact to understand Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) status or Build Transfer Agreement (BTA) negotiations and closing.Finance – CAPEX, modeling, optimization, alignment on payment methodsRisk – information on counter party risk related with Solar suppliers, new and incoming supply agreements with relevant T&Cs, and market trends & new risksEnergy Assessment – Solar plant productionTax&Accounting – sales/use tax mitigation, duties, tariffs, INCOTERMSREQUIRED PROFILEAcademic skillsUniversity Degree, preferably in technical and/or business financial areasProfessional experience2-3+ years of relevant experience in Solar Industry, preferably in Procurement or CommercialExperience with supply contract negotiation and management, contract models and industry terms and conditionsExperience with strategic equipment procurement tenders, and market competitive analysisCompetency in the development of Business RelationshipsBehavioral requirementsVery strong work-ethic, communication skills, multi-tasking abilities and innovative thinking with a focus on challenging and improving the status-quoStrong analytical skills and problem-solving abilityLeadership skills and ability to be self-motivatedStrong interpersonal abilities to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment: internal EDP areas, technical experts, senior management, joint venture partners, suppliers and other stakeholdersTravelExpected min 25% (Supplier factories, supplier meetings, solar farm visits, industry fairs, global team meetings, etc).
