About the role You will be Mitiga's first, dedicated finance person responsible for Mitiga's finances, including accounting, reporting, and budgets and forecast preparation. You will report directly to the COO for all financial reporting, budget controls and other day to day finances. You will directly support the CEO with investor relations, investor reporting and financial forecasting for the long-term health of the business.

Responsibilities Take ownership of all accounting operations including Billing, AR, AP, GL, Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition Manage cash flow projections Coordinate and direct the budget and financial forecasts and reports Prepare and publish timely monthly and year-end financial statements Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls Liaise with auditors Manage grant applications and R&D tax credit processes Manage relationships with third party stakeholders including accountants, insurance brokers, banking partners, hedging partners, software providers Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities Roll up your sleeves! Take the initiative to spot areas to improve as necessary and assist with creating reports, dashboards or other finance or data-related activities across the business to inform decision-making We'd also love it if you can get deep into strategic things (such as FP&A, handling an analytical P&L that helps us make the right choices, handling our SaaS KPIs, etc...) What you won't do Comply with government tax filings. However, you'll need to collaborate with our external accountant to ensure this is done in a timely manner Payroll. Our external accountant works with our HR team to manage payroll however, you may be asked to QA the information Day-to-day raising invoices, paying expenses, reconciliations. We have an admin assistant who can support you Experience in the role or similar role (5+ years) Likely you're ACCA, CPA, ICAS/ICAEW or CIMA qualified Excellent at problem solving and prioritisation Great communication and organisational ability A team player with a proactive attitude and ability to work autonomously Happy to work from our beachfront office 2 days a week, ideally (although remote may be available but not preferred) Flexible and willing to be adaptable in an innovative and rapidly scaling environment Kind and conscientious English (high-level working proficiency) and Spanish (ideally), Catalan (bonus!)
