Summary Responsible for performing and recording visual inspection of component level and/or top assembly products. Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other tasks and duties may be required as directed. • Required to perform simple product inspections with appropriate supporting documentation verifying actual results against drawing and/or specification requirements with little supervision. • Verify supplier approval status and certifications against drawing and/or specification requirements for accuracy and completeness. • Verify compliance of finished hardware with drawing requirements based on shop practices as they relate to unfinished hardware (e.g., visual verification of machined areas, etc.) • Ability to understand and conform to internal company procedures. • Perform simple mathematic calculations. • Ability to effectively inspect product using basic inspection tools, which may include, but not limited to, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, etc. • Use quality-related software and ERP to appropriately record assigned job results based on completed processes. • Meet deadlines of assigned jobs while maintaining the integrity of the position. • Seek and document lean process improvement ideas. • Execute formal first article reports to AS9102 standards. • Review ATP for accuracy and completeness. • Obtain customer source delegation, as required. Qualification Requirements Education/Experience • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); one to two years related experience or training. Language Skills • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Ability to speak effectively before small groups of customers or employees. Math Skills • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and read decimals down to the millionth of an inch. Reasoning Skills • Ability to solve practical problems ad deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
