About the role: We're looking for our next Junior Legal Advisor to join our Legal team in Spain . This position will report directly to our Legal Manager and will be responsible for providing legal advice on a variety of topics to key departments across the company. 
The right person will be a great team player who is also capable of working independently when required, with a hands-on attitude and comfortable working within a fast-paced tech startup environment. We're also looking for a self-starter who has great analytical skills and strategic thinking, as conducting research and assisting in the development of strategies, policies and contracts will be part of your day-to-day. The Junior Legal Advisor will collaborate closely with other members of our Legal team and cross-functionally with other stakeholders in the company, so an outstanding ability to communicate (both written and verbally) and respect for diversity and ideas of others are also essential.

About the job:Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements such as, but not limited to, service, software, confidentiality and data privacy agreements with customers (schools, districts, corporations and public authorities), providers, and other entities, within the USA, EMEA, APAC and LATAM frameworks. Coordinate with key stakeholders to bring each contract or agreement to a successful conclusion.Assist in the periodic review and adjustment of the company's public policies (e.g., Terms of Service and Privacy Policy), and internal policies and regulations, as required.Assist and provide advice to all departments of the company in regard to legal concerns, including, but not limited to, content development (e.g., copyright and intellectual property), HR (e.g., contract terminations, leaves of absence, disciplinary actions), corporate (e.g., opening new branches/offices, drafting of board approvals/consents) marketing (e.g., email campaigns, contests and sweepstakes), and sales (e.g., service contracts, bidding processes and procurement).Conduct research on other applicable regulations based on the business needs of the company, at an international level, and assist in the development of strategies where required.Be a tech-savvy legal specialist to properly perform all the above.About you:Law degree (at least 5 years, incl. Master's, Bar Exam, Business school) from a reputable EU or UK university, preferably with a specialization in commercial law, including contracts and intellectual property law.2 years of post qualified experience in commercial or corporate law in a reputable law firm, with experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.Proficient/bilingual level of English.Outstanding skills in legal research and legal writing.Admitted to practice law in at least one European Union country.Based in Spain and have a work permit to work in Spain.Law degree (or equivalent) or LLM from a reputable US University. Admitted to practice law in a US state.Familiar with American English legal jargon.Familiar with both civil and common law legal systems.Experience or knowledge on international copyright laws, such as, but not limited to, the US DMCA Act or the EU Copyright Directive.Experience or knowledge on data privacy regulations.Additional languages.… or another amazing skill you bring to the table that we haven't thought of yet!What's it like to work remotely?Work from the comfort of your own home.Use the Edpuzzle office as much or as little as you like.Meet with your manager and team via video calls on Google Meet or Slack.Connect with coworkers via Slack (with channels for work and for fun!). To enjoy our remote work policy, you'll need high-speed internet access.What we offer:Competitive salary at €33K - €36K and a yearly salary review based on performance.Free private health insurance policy with AXA.€2000 annually for meals.Flexible remuneration for childcare and transportation.24 paid holidays plus December 24th and 31st.Flexible working hours and reduced working time on Fridays.Remote-friendly: Feel free to work 100% remotely or use the Barcelona office whenever you want, for the best of both worlds!Free coffee, snacks, and drinks in the Barcelona office.Teambuilding events during working hours.Incredible opportunity to grow, learn, and build lifetime bonds with other passionate people. €33,000 - €36,000 a year Edpuzzle is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
