About This Role At Apeel Sciences, we look to nature to help the global food system improve quality, reduce waste, and ensure an abundant future for our planet. We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager who will work closely with our field specialists, engineers, and scientists to ensure the quality of Apeel's global installation operations, with a primary focus on EMEA regional operations. You will collaborate with our teams to proactively identify areas of improvement and develop and implement processes that help advance our operations. This position will be based in Valencia, Spain.
What You'll Do Be the expert in and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable food and packing house regulations, including on food laws and regional food business regulations within the EMEA regionCollaborate closely with Integration teams to participate in equipment installation & qualification, with a focus on food safety, equipment quality, & document creation (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, manufacturing batch records, cleaning and maintenance checklists, etc.)Participate in design reviews for Apeel equipment, with a focus on sanitary designRepresent the Quality function in all Apeel operations in EMEA, including employee training, customer communications, audits/inspections, and other Apeel operationsRegularly visit Apeel installation sites to ensure compliance, obtain feedback from teammates in the field, and review recordsDevelop food safety policies for new facilities and operations, including sanitation, traceability, and other quality-related programs, including quality control testingDevelop scalable electronic workflows for document submittal, filing, and retentionPromptly and carefully review records to ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulationsDrive the creation of and updates to Standard Operating Procedures, Forms, and other controlled documents, in compliance with applicable regulationsProactively identify areas for improvement at Apeel and develop and implement processes that help to advance our operationsWhat You Bring Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experienceExperience working in a regulated industry, preferably food and/or pharmaceuticalAbility to travel up to 30% within Europe and other locations on occasionAdvanced proficiency in English and Spanish is requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention-to-detail and commitment to qualityExcellent interpersonal skillsEnthusiasm for process improvement & optimizationStrong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Power Point, and Excel At Apeel, we value potential and recognize that great candidates come from diverse backgrounds.
