In this role, the nurse will be responsible for developing and administering all phases of the Refinery Health Clinic.Occupational Health Nursing is the specialty of nursing practice that focuses on the work environment, the worker, and the business context to promote health, prevent illness and injury, protect workers from risks associated with occupational health hazards, recommend placement of workers in jobs suited to their psychological and physical health status, and restore workers' health in a safe and healthy work environment.Responsibilities:Provide, monitor and evaluate a wide range of occupational health services. Provide health expertise to functional groups (HR, Legal, Procurement), H&S, Emergency Response and Leadership as requiredDevelop a health promotion strategy and initiatives in support of; the public health agenda, specific occupational health risks and disease prevalenceFormulate, review and update Health Center procedures and policiesProvide management with information on the health status of the workforce and utilization of servicesDevelop and maintain an effective scheduling program for regulatory evaluations and other occupational services for employeesConduct health assessments (job specific, pre-employment etc.) and health surveillanceCoordinate and/or perform OSHA required audiometric tests, pulmonary function exams; respirator fit testing and medical management of Cenovus Hearing Conservation Program and Cenovus Respirator ProgramDevelop and provide health training such as office ergonomics, blood borne pathogens, fatigue management, and health promotion initiativesAssist when necessary with treatments and advice including the rehabilitation of employees following sickness/injuryWorking knowledge of case management for Short Term Disability, Family Medical Leave, Workers Compensation, and ADAAdvise personnel, HR and managers on aspects of sickness absence and rehabilitationBe familiar and current with state and federal regulations affecting occupational health (i.e. OSHA) or laws that affect the workplace such as FMLA, HIPAA, and ADAProvide consultancy for potential occupational illnesses and injuries, which are monitored and reported upon as appropriateCompile correspondence and reports to managers and external agenciesCompile and securely maintain accurate individual medical records, calibration records and all log books to comply with company and statutory requirementsComply with all H&S programs, policies and procedures and Cenovus's code of conductCounseling of employees with referral to the EAP or other resources when appropriateDevelop links and working arrangements with external EAP providers for specialist psychosocial support and psychological emergenciesMake recommendations on resource, capability and capacity of health teams/functionOversee Health Center budget/s and a range of external contracts and consultancyInput and recall personnel data on a health database and compile statistical dataManage and maintain all required Health Center pharmacy and testing license, maintain all medical testing equipment, including EMR interfacesProvide travel health and immunization advice to employeesConduct pre-employment, random and follow-up drug and alcohol testsQualifications:Required:Registered Nurse (RN) - licensed in the state of Ohio or able to secure Ohio licensureDemonstrated ability in occupational health (i.e. working knowledge with FMLA, caApply here:Click here to apply#J-18808-Ljbffr
