The roles We are currently needing multiple people to join our teams on a casual basis at our Geochemistry sites located at Wangara, Malaga and Canning Vale. We are seeking committed, client-focused Sample Preparers to join our team based in a busy work environment supporting our many mining clients in WA. Sample Preparers operate machinery which crushes, splits, and pulverises mining mineral samples for laboratory analysis. This is a fast paced, dusty work environment where previous production experience and flexibility with availability would be highly beneficial. This is a Casual role, but you MUST be available to work Monday to Friday (full-time hours) and MUST be able to work on fortnightly rotating shifts – 2 weeks of day shift then 2 weeks of afternoon shift then 2 weeks of night shift Opportunities for multi-skilling within the department are available, such as moving towards complicated processes type of roles in sample preparation, admin, supervisory, and laboratory roles. The day-to-day Sorting bags of mineral samples (weighing up to 10kg) Operating mineral sample preparation equipment (weighing scales, crushers, pulverizes, etc.) Performing routine manual tasking in a minerals processing environment Collecting data for hyperspectral analysis The essentials Ability to perform rotating shift work Ability to follow set procedures Have excellent attention to detail Be willing to work as part of a high-performance team with a focus on quality & safety Be reliable, physically fit, and prepared to carry out repetitive manual handling tasks Working at ALS Our people drive our success at ALS.
