.Senior AUS Mortgage Specialist | Onsite Morning Shift AccountSummary of the Position:We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Mortgage Specialist to join our Australian mortgage broker support team. This role requires advanced skills, and a thorough understanding of the Australian mortgage loan process. This includes managing mortgage applications from end to end, assessing creditworthiness and eligibility, and ensuring compliance with lender policies and procedures.This position also requires confident communication skills, along with the flexibility and initiative to work with and support an entrepreneurial client.RESPONSIBILITIES:Application Review:- Thoroughly review mortgage applications to ensure completeness and accuracy.- Verify applicant information, including income, employment history, identification, and other relevant documentation.- Identify and remedy gaps in the application and/or supporting documents.Credit Assessment:- Assess creditworthiness and eligibility by checking credit reports, assessing serviceability, reviewing property valuations, and verifying supporting documents.- Ensure applications are eligible and compliant prior to Lender submission.Communication:- Communicate with loan officers, applicants, and third-party vendors to gather necessary information and resolve any discrepancies.- Monitor and follow up Lenders to ensure applications are processed within SLA; escalate matters where required.- Provide clear and concise updates on application status and credit analysis to relevant stakeholders.Documentation Management:- Collect and organise all required documents for mortgage applications.Customer Service:- Assist applicants in understanding the credit process and guide them through the necessary information and document requirements.- Respond promptly to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.- Proactively support the client's mortgage brokers and other team members. Qualifications and Experience:- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Australian mortgage industry.- Extensive knowledge of residential mortgage lending.- Expertise with mortgage serviceability calculators.- Strong understanding of lending principles and credit assessment processes- Knowledge of Australian regulatory framework, for example, NCCP, Privacy, AML/KYC,Responsible Lending, Best Interests Duty.- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.- Confident spoken and written communication skills.- Knowledge of low doc, SMSF and commercial mortgage lending beneficial.
