Senior Nurse Infection Prevention & Control (IPC)AfC Band 8a(pro rata ) plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,591.56 per annum (pro rata) and a High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance of £3,819.96 per annum (pro rata)Hours – 37*Contract Duration – PermanentPost Details – Senior nurse post with a remit for Infection prevention and control and nurse lead for end of life care.Experience – The post holder as an expert in the specialty of infection control, will provide clinical expertise and leadership, scrutinise and interpret national policy directives and initiatives in relation to IPC, tailoring national practice to appropriate local operational procedures and implementation plans relevant and proportionate to the needs of the setting.The post holder will also be the Palliative Care / Bereavement Lead for the State Hospital and is responsible for ensuring that staff are equipped with the necessary skills to support the delivery of the Palliative and End Of Life Care, which includes the development and implementation of policy and practice guidelines specific to end of life care.Closing Date – The closing date for applications is 10/05/24. Full-time hours will be reduced from 37.5 to 37 hours, and part-time staff will get a pro-rata reduction in their working hours without losing any earnings. Although the State Hospital will implement this change, it may not be possible to transition fully from 1 April. Therefore, there may be some areas in the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department cannot safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety. Of course, you will be remunerated accordingly.
