Capacity planners are at the center of the Supply chain and do need to balance capacity, raw materials and inventory to deliver the best service possible to our customer. They must deliver a realistic and optimized plan to manufacturing, they also need to make sure manufacturing is performing as planned. Capacity planners are in direct contact with various partners such as manufacturing, quality, customer representatives, supply planning and logistics. Capacity planning rely on strong processes that needs to be done daily with rigor. The capacity planner must deal with a lot of information and should take the right decision.
