The successful candidate will manage/lead marine infrastructure design projects for both the public and private sectors. Leads and manages the preparation of design documents, calculation reports and specifications for waterfront/marine civil site development (site layout, grading, storm water, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems)Plan, schedule work, and complete work assignments within established budget and timelinesMentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plansPerform limited field observations in support of construction and data collectionDetermine project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs.Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data.Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction site, and verifying calculations and placementsConduct site visits and attend client meetings as necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering from an accredited university degree programChartered Engineer registration; required15 to 20 years of experience in site/civil engineering design including grading, drainage, hydraulics and hydrology, stormwater, erosion sediment control, and environmental permittingMinimum of 5 years of project management experience with competence in managing projects, budgets, proposal writing, and coordination with clientsCompetence in general civil engineering design is required including roadway, paving, grading, drainage, hydraulics and hydrology water, and sanitary sewerExperience in waterfront development projects desired but not requiredProficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Word and Excel required Desired proficiency with XPSWMM, Hydraulic Modeling Systems (HEC), USDA Technical Releases (TR), MicroStation productsExcellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 Working conditions: Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
