Job Description• Examine Swine and check their health status.• Diagnose illnesses and determine the best treatment• Perform procedural care of piglets• Perform periodical pre weaning examinations of sows and piglets• Advise on correct and timely vaccination of the swine to prevent diseases• Prescribe medication as appropriate• Advise on nutrition issues/symptoms• Review Farm performance records• Review Boar performance records and make recommendations where appropriate• Identifying any diseases or bacterium present on the Farm• In association with UWI facilities and facilities on the Farm, perform autopsies on the swine when required• Act as a liaison between UWI and the Farm for the purpose of proving access to laboratory testing facilities• Advise management and supervisory team on best practices for updated Swine care• Any other related duties
