What's the job?
As Human Resources Manager you will be responsible for supervising the Human Resources team, ensuring the service is on point and solving any issue reported by the team. You will report to the Cluster Director of People & Culture.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, selection, talent development, learning, health and safety, people operations and labor relations.
- Implement and oversees the administration of human resources programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits payroll, unions procedures, negotiation & mediation (SMAC), people operations, and leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; budgeting develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with the authorities' state and local, employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Assists in the interviewing and hiring of Human Resource employee team members with the appropriate skills, as needed.
- Oversees/monitors candidate identification and selection process.
- Assists in maintaining effective employee communication channels in the property (e.g., develops daily communications and assists with regularly scheduled property-wide meetings).
- Reviews progressive discipline documentation for accuracy and consistency, and checks for supportive documentation and is accountable for determining appropriate action.
- Utilizes an "open door" policy to acknowledge employee problems or concerns in a timely manner
- Ensures employee issues are referred to the Department Manager for resolution.
- Partners with Loss Prevention to conduct employee accident investigations, as necessary.
- Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
- Ensures compliance with procedure for accessing, reviewing, and auditing employee files and ensure compliance with the Privacy Act.
- Communicates property rules and regulations via the employee handbook.
What we need from you:
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality or related field.
- 2+ years experience working in Human Resources department as Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Must be fluent in local language and English, additional languages will be highly valuable.
