Knowledge Engineer Service Lead - Labelled Property Graph Barcelona Competitive Salary + Benefits What you'll do: Enterprise Data Information & Availability Services is a central team leading Data, Analytics and AI Platforms and Solutions. We build and manage enterprise technology platforms, and run them as services, which enable AZ data engineers from all domain areas to solve data challenges.
We are in the process of implementing a Labelled Property Graph Enterprise Service, Neo4j, and are looking for someone who can join us at this crucial point. You will be the Service Lead – the person that is accountable for the success of the LPG Service in AstraZeneca. We need someone that can lead, shape and build the technology platform (Neo4j) inline with our reference architecture, so that it is scalable and sustainable and most meaningfully loved by AZ Data Engineers and Data Scientists. We also need you to be an inspiring engineering leader who can develop their distributed team, manage and influence multiple collaborators - all whilst having laser focus on delivery and improving return of value.
We run the platform in a Hub and Spoke model – effectively operating as an internal SaaS team.
You will be accountable for developing and delivering the roadmap for the Enterprise Neo4j platform, ensuring we have the right security, difficulty, integrations and automation to work efficiently, safely and at speed
Leading and working with your team - you will need to refine an effective and agile working practices to ensure that the platform evolves to meet user needs whilst ensuring key service metrics, net promoter scores and metrics are define, governed, maintained and improved progressively
You will ensure we have structure, prioritised backlogs, capacity planning of the team so that dependencies are identified and delivery is predictable – working in conjunction with our PI Planning cycles
You will be accountable for the cost of run of the Neo4j Platform and defining measures to highlight the business value return of the work your team accomplish
You will establish strong working relationships with the data teams, third parties and partners to develop and oversee and aligned strategy of onboarding and migration to the platform
Essential for the role You will be the face of the Labelled Property Graph service and as such will need to be a domain expert in the technology, but also work with an Enterprise attitude. You will raise expectations within the whole team, solve complex technical problems and work alongside complementary delivery platforms.
Requirements: Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field.
You have proven track record to work with Neo4j or similar graph technologies – having implemented good governance practices, standards and industry standard process.
Experience of leading a central platform or leadership in a SaaS role – able to demonstrate customer focus and enterprise approach
You have demonstrable experience of working with multiple internal collaborators to deliver complex roadmaps
You have a strong experience in building partnerships and alliances with technical vendors
Strong history of management of global technical teams with strong Team Leadership skills!
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence multi-functional teams and present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
You have experience working in a global organization with multi-partners, customers and team members are spread out in a diverse culture environment
Good awareness and experience working with GxP and SOX compliant platforms and services.
Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and distributed computing.
Experience in designing, developing, and deploying customised and scalable knowledge graph solutions or products with emphasis on graph data modelling, graph traversal, graph theory and graph analytics or graph AI.
Deep understanding of LPG concepts, technologies, and standard methodologies in heterogenous datasets and documented knowledge of technologies for the creation and storage of knowledge graphs (Neo4j, Neptune, or similar).
Deep knowledge in Graph Query Languages (Cypher, Gremlin, or any other major GQL).
Data/Software Engineering proficiency with Object-Oriented Programming Languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++) and/or Dynamic Programming Languages (e.g., Python, Perl).
Working knowledge of a range of database technologies including RDBMS, NoSQL.
Good to have skills and experience: Programming languages that combine object-oriented and functionalprogramming (e.g., Scala).
Experience with data analytics techniques, such as machine learning, statistical modelling, and data visualization.
Object Graph Mapping libraries and/or Aspect Oriented Programming.
Data engineering using modern data platforms to build, deploy, and maintain data applications.
Application deployment technologies (containerised workflows, Kubernetes) and cloud provisioning tools (CloudFormation, Terraform). Familiarity with AWS would be advantageous.
Web-services development and consumption (e.g., RESTFul, GraphQL).
Graph visualization technologies and tools (e.g., Neo4j Bloom, SigmaJS, Gephi).
Full text search and indexing (e.g., Solr/Lucene, Elastic Search).
Testing frameworks.
