Your Mission You are a strong, experienced Programme professional who is passionate about delivering great Products & Services and are excited by the challenges associated with running a variety of strategic initiatives. You will collaborate in a matrix environment and will ensure that stakeholders at all levels of the organization have the information they need for informed decision-making. You will provide visibility of portfolio delivery, including programme and project statuses through consolidated and individual reports tailored to their audiences, so we do expect you to have superb communications skills and fluent English.
You will have to get up to speed and pick up things very quickly and must be comfortable managing a portfolio of concurrent large programmes or complex projects in a fast-paced work environment with limited supervision. You will report to the Head of Enterprise Portfolio Management, an efficient, collaborative, and diverse Portfolio, Project and Programme management function that creates genuine value for the business and supports the delivery of key objectives.
What You'll Do Lead a team of Project and Programme Managers inspiring and mentoring them to be a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Adopt a culture of continuous improvement within the function, promote best practices and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency, not settling or satisfying with the status quo. Manage relationships with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership, to gain support and secure necessary capacity. Help to create a vision for success and unite cross-functional teams so that they are aligned, facilitate collaboration and encourage effective communication and horizontal teamwork towards a common goal. Facilitate the intake and governance process for the Portfolio, manage frameworks that ensure we are focusing on the right initiatives to support our business growth and their key delivery gates. Ensure that project outcomes are monitored and that a robust process is developed to review benefits realization. Supervise Portfolio Change Management, managing the impacts on agreed objectives, ensuring highest priorities delivery and bi-directional traceability on portfolio changes (top-down and bottom-up). Drive the progress of critical and strategic large programmes and complex projects objectives, utilizing multiple techniques to plan, own and deliver the end-to-end programme and project plans, milestones and timelines. Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to lead large programmes of work, capture and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions in an organized, structured and coherent manner. Be accountable for producing and maintaining a Portfolio Roadmap that clearly shows in-flight, planned and available capacity at team level. Provide leadership to matrix teams ensuring that outcomes are achieved consistently using agreed frameworks within the Business and that standard methodologies and management principles are adhered to. You'll have a high-level understanding of initiatives being delivered and be able to partake in relevant conversations and update the wider team accordingly. Be accountable for the overall reporting activities to support the right level of transparency across our strategies What You'll Bring Personable character and exceptional communicator – ability to communicate at the highest level (Written, Spoken and Presentation), provide empathetic feedback, challenge, and influence others. Proven experience in successfully managing and leading complex projects and programmes in Software Development environments. PMO experience would be an advantage. Very strong stakeholder management skills. Credible and persuasive, with collaborative and influencing skills. Highly organized and good at getting things done in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment. Proven ability to proactively manage time effectively when handling multiple simultaneous projects, to switch context and be adaptable to change. Ability to learn quickly, work independently and in a team setting. Tech-savvy in using management software tools (e.g. Atlassian suite, MS Project, MS Visio, etc). Ideally degree educated in a subject such as IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business etc. Desirable to have a Professional PM Qualification (e.g. PMP, Prince 2, Agile Scrum Master, etc). Line management experience would be advantageous.
