Big Data Engineer (m/w/d)

Role and Responsibilities
Purpose

Jointly with data specialists, the Big Data Engineer will design and prepare the platform for machine learning and data processing, including back-end and front-end.

Responsibilities
- Jointly with Machine Learning Engineers, implement algorithms in large-scale distributed environments
- Write and maintain SW code for different projects in Big Data environments
- Support and mentor Data Scientists to apply good SW coding practices while writing code
- Responsible of the code base and putting the SW code into production
- Ensure software quality
- Documents the work in a consistent and complete way


Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering / SW Development
- Relevant experience in Apache Spark with Scala
- Advanced programming skills (functional and object-oriented).
- Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Sqoop, Oozie....)
- Databases (SQL and NoSQL)
