Centrient Pharmaceuticals is wholly owned by Bain Capital Private Equity, a leading global private investment firm.The Innovation & Technology Development department has a vacancy in its team for the following position:Biocatalysis Scientist (Innovation & Technology Development)Reporting to the Innovation & Technology Development (I&TD) Laboratory Head, the Biocatalysis Scientist I&TD, will play a central role by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to design new processes for the manufacturing of APIs; coordinate and lead relevant works performed by our partners and CROs. Design and execute laboratory trials for the development and optimization of biocatalytic transformations.The Main Activities And ResponsibilitiesDesign new processes for the production of Centrient's new pipeline APIsDesign and execute laboratory research while oversee work done by technicians.Project planning and management to achieve deadlinesTechnology transfer to manufacturing site collaborating with Tech Ops team for a successful process implementationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate enzymatic processes into overall drug development pipelinesLeading collaborations with partners and CROs with deep understanding of technologies appliedCompliance with GMP and Safety regulations in all activitiesMonitors internal and external developments in the biocatalysis field for applicability, including benchmarking of the technology against competitors by performing literature and IP searches.RequirementsThe Ideal CandidatePhD in biocatalysis, biochemistry or related disciplineMinimum of 5 years of experience in process development in chemical or pharmaceutical industryDeep understanding of enzyme technology, bioconversion and enzyme purification techniquesAdvanced level of English language (written and spoken)Knowledge of GMPFoster strong collaborative relationshipsResults orientedProactive and team work attitudeLeadership skills
