col-wideJob Description:**COOKS REQUIRED - MARBELLA, PUERTO BANUS, MIJAS COSTA**We are seeking cook(s) to be responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fryer and/or stations or other areas of the kitchen.This position will report directly to the Sous Chef and Group Executive Chef.**Essential Functions**- Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines- Prepares all food items as directed and in a sanitary and timely manner- Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant- Restocks all items as needed throughout shift- Cleans and maintains station, practicing good safety, sanitation, organization skills- Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station- Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas- Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager at any time.**Skills required**:This is a mínimal description of duties. Other work requirements may be necessary and assigned as business dictates- English language- Professional cooking and knife handling skills- Ability to take direction- Ability to work in a team environment- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized- Commitment to quality service- Food & beverage knowledge- This position will spend 100% of the time standing- Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions in English- Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy- Must be able to see 20/20 vision- Able to lift at least 25kg- Climb on step stool or ladder in order to complete elements of job or facilitate maintenance issues- Bend, lean and stoop without hindrance- Able to operate kitchen equipment- Use stairs often- Work within different temperature changes - indoors to outdoors- Able to pass basic safety and first aid course- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is essential- Hands on attitude, leads by example!
