Background
From our corporateheadquarters in Madrid we execute different types of audits within the Europeanregion. The Internal Audit function aims to assist senior management inachieving its strategic objectives by assessing the quality of the financefunction including adequacy and effectiveness of the internal controls over (1)financial reporting, (2) effectiveness and efficiency of operations, and (3)compliance with laws and regulations. In addition there is a direct reportingline between our team and the Corporate Internal Audit team in Japan.
Due to the stronginteraction between the internal audit function and the finance function westimulate long-term career growth vertically within internal audit, but also horizontallyinto the European finance area.
The Internal AuditFunction currently has an opening for an experienced Corporate Internal Auditor. This position reportsto the European Director of Internal Audit and is based in Madrid.
Main Functions
Participate in the planning, execution and reporting of the audit fieldwork we perform at our European entities. Overall objective is to help to continue to improve the finance function throughout the region in order to achieve management's strategic objectives.Evaluate, quantify, and prioritize gaps between the as-is and future to-be situation.Partner with the responsible teams on corrective action activities with the objective of mitigating risks and improving compliance and operational performance.We believe the usage of data analytics and Artificial Intelligence can help keep the audit function relevant for the future. We expect you to contribute to positive changes by encouraging innovative and pragmatic solutions to complex problems.Provide timely assistance to external auditors and colleagues, as requested.Ensure procedures, policies, legislation and regulations are correctly followed and complied with.Promote high levels of ethical awareness. Notify audit management of any findings related to potential ethical issues or conflicts of interest and support the department's independent investigations, as needed. Job requirements Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance or related field.
Fluency in English and Spanish. Other languages as German, Italian or others are a plus.
Around 5-8 years of public accounting or private industry experience with knowledge of accounting, finance and internal control areas (specifically SOX and/or JSOX experience). Big 4 experience is considered a plus.
Understanding of the technical aspects of accounting and financial reporting, and professional standards (IFRS, GAAS, and the Professional Practices Framework of the IIA), risk management and the COSO 2013 framework.
Knowledge on ITGCs (IT General Controls) is desired.
Experience with data analytics or Artificial Intelligence is considered a plus.
Travel requirements: in normal circumstances travelling may be required up to 20% of your time

Critical thinking skills, including the ability to quickly assimilate new information, identify patterns, make sound decisions and develop creative solutions.
Positive attitude, desire to learn, self-motivated and effective team player.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Ability to work independently and be flexible.
Preferred Qualifications
Master or MBA.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA /ACCA or ACA) or/and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Prior industry experience.
