As part of the Operations organization, this is an opportunity for a capable and experienced professional to lead the Quality and Continuous Improvements teams within the EMEA factories and European Parts Center to provide superior quality in products and services to our customers. We are looking for a leader with experience in building relationship with customers, as well as building teams, leading through change, with passion and ability to build and lead diverse teams in a matrix organization with an inclusive mindset. This position is accountable for ensuring proper processes, controls and structures (quality management system) are in place to build a high-quality product, ensure responsiveness to customer quality issues. This position manages customer orders escalation. The efforts put forth by this individual will directly impact the long-term company quality management and quality of the final product. In order to succeed, this individual must have the passion and energy to work in an entrepreneurial and fast paced environment and is expected to have experience working in a multinational company (preferable). We are seeking an experienced Regional Quality director, with demonstrable experience in leading the quality function including quality assurance, inspections, quality compliance and continuous improvement to lead OPXL in the manufacturing plants and EPC. We also see an individual with experience in building relationship with customers, as well se building teams, leading through change and with passion for the customer and ability to build inclusive team everyone wants to work with. Reporting directly to the leader of the VP of Quality EMEA and functional to Operations VP of Manufacturing EMEA facilities, this individual will work closely with the Plant Quality Managers, CI leads, and Production lines leads, Engineering, various functional leaders. As Head of Quality & Continuous Improvement, Operations EMEA, will lead both the implementation of quality strategies, processes and quality tools as well as the Continuous Improvement efforts within Operations. The function supports to find the best balance between standardized methods and the flexibility that is required to support the organization in EMEA. This leader is also expected to provide feedback and leadership to his / her team and lead the team to enhance customer experience. Ideally this position will be located in Madrid, Spain. However, other locations within Europe will be considered with preference given to locations closest to an Otis factory. The main responsibilities will include : Implement quality strategy and planning (including resource, systems, time schedule and financials) to support the organization's short- and long-term business plan. Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards / targets. Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction while driving down factory and field rework costs. Responsible to lead the Customer Quality by managing, tracking, and escalating all supplier quality risk for EMEA. Focal point to manage major customer issues. Be actively involved in Factory Customer Board review to ensure high standard of quality products from the EMEA factories. Lead Manufacturing site assessments, audits, and develop plans and help lead through improvements identified. Ensure best practices and lessons learned in Quality Department are appropriately transferred across all plants and functions. Establish effective cross site and cross department communications. Provide leadership, drive organizational capability, set objectives and support the development of Quality teams, leading to continuous improvement of the Quality processes and the adoption of best practices. Daily communication to colleagues within the operations site, communication to customers, including presentations, jobsite or customer visits if needed, being an escalation contact for the key customers. Lead the customer claims timely resolution (AMT, FTB, other claims), being responsible for keeping the given KPIs. Responsible for management of plant execution deliverables audits : PFMEA, Control Plan, SWI Planning and reporting in relation to the quality function, processes and cost (incl cost of poor quality COPQ). Lead functional responsibility of ISO certification of manufacturing locations and Quality Core documentation PFMEA, Control Plans and standardized execution of work practices in our manufacturing locations. Continuously work with business leaders to seek and leverage process improvements. Leads through CI project selection, execution, deployment and tracking with OPXL process. Support Lean initiatives to optimize / standardize processes as well as to achieve defined targets. Proactive and leading the cost of poor-quality continuous reduction- leading projects and actions across the whole EMEA organization. Champion quality issues within the organization to further enhance the quality of the products and the customer experience. Leading quality review meetings, proactively gathering feedback, challenges. Partner with engineering / product management and Operations to manage critical situations and incidents proactively and reactively. Support the recruitment of diverse candidates, develop, coach, and mentor a best-in-class Quality organization to ensure every customer opportunity is maximized. Analyticalable to translate complex data into a simple solution with an analytical mindset.Able to utilize, interpret and solve quality issues using data and quality tools : SPC charts, 8-D analysis, regression analysis, Ishikawa diagrams. Able to lead teams with robust problem-solving techniques and tools : FTA, six sigma, Shainin, PDCA, 3L5W.Able to read component and product drawings for datum scheme and control. Communication SkillsExcellent communication skills are important, able to deal with all kinds of different stakeholdersFluent in English, additional languages advantageous Education & ExperienceUniversity or master's degree (engineering or MBA preferred)8 + years' experience in various Quality, Engineering (product and process engineering) and / or Operational assignments, in High mix / low volume industriesAt least 5 years of Managerial Experience in international / matrix organization companiesProficient in root cause analysis tools (Pareto, 5 Why, Fishbone / Ishakawa, FMEA, Solution Tree, 8D, A3), Lean principles, Six Sigma methodology. Experience in Management of Code and Certification Compliance. VDA Certified and / or TS1948 compliant preferable.Strong agility to navigate in complex organizations, to adapt to change and to solve complex issues.
