The role will provide outstanding tax support to various business lines and other critical stakeholders of the corporation. This is an advisory and controversy focused role working closely with the wider regional tax and finance organization and reporting to VP-Taxes, EMEA region located in London.In the capacity of Tax director, you will act as trusted advisor to stakeholders in Spain as well as AXP Global Tax Organization. The role is direct tax advisory focused related to domestic and international transactions, ensuring strong tax positions through tax planning, audit management and interaction with internal and external interest groups. The scope of responsibilities may be extended to cover other markets.Core ResponsibilitiesTo provide practical and accurate tax advice to the business and partners.Own the management of tax authority audits and other disputes with tax authorities. Ensure that appropriate positions are taken in external audits, and negotiate strategically for an efficient outcome.Proactively participate in business initiatives and other projects to drive tax efficiency. Determine the tax implications of projects and communicate the implications to stakeholders, ensuring these are understood.Where required, act as subject matter expert to any resulting business or compliance processes changes.Take a lead in identifying, understanding and communicating domestic, EU and OECD driven tax law changes; be willing to participate in the conversation through local and EU networking groups.Develop and maintain networks with internal and external stakeholders.Proactively collaborate with the wider EMEA Tax Advisory team and Global Tax teams in New York, India and other regions to ensure effective and smooth business knowledge sharing to mitigate wider Tax risks
