Want to be part of the team building the finest property, casualty and specialty lines insurance company in the world?Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for an Energy and Construction Underwriter to join our Property team in Madrid.The Energy and Construction Underwriter will be responsible for developing and expanding new business opportunities, analyzing exposures according to BHSI's risk quality and confidence framework, negotiating fair insurance conditions and deploying necessary capacity for all type of construction projects, and for operational programs in the power generation, oil & gas, mining, and chemical segments. A good understanding of engineering concepts, risk management capabilities and strong business acumen is necessary to achieve our team objective of being a reputable Energy and Construction team with an outperforming combined ratio.We are seeking an individual with a solid background in underwriting Energy and Construction business, who strives for excellence in every area from analyzing risks to delivering customer and broker service.You should be comfortable working closely with the Claims team, underwriters and Risk Control engineers from across the broader team.
