It is perfectly placed on the northern edge of the Canadian Boreal Forest as well as on the edge of the Arctic Circle. Arctic Lodges is a world-class fly-in trophy fishing resort offering our guests all-inclusive packages. Arctic Lodges is well known for our trophy fishing and our exceptional customer service.We are seeking great people who love the outdoors to join our outstanding team of service providers.Arctic Lodges accommodates up on average 16 guests per day with groups up to. We are committed to offering a warm, friendly work environment with strong team culture.**Responsibilities**:Providing overall leadership and guidance to all of Arctic Lodges employees.Ensuring all duties are executed in a safe and timely manner.Responsible for the operations of Arctic Lodges to ensure proper service to all guests.Make sure every aspect of the guests experience is met with unforgettable experiences.Invest in creating long-term relationships with guests.As a General Manager of you hold the ultimate responsibility for oversight of the Arctic Lodges property, coordinate all departments, and are expected to improve efficiency and increase profits while managing the overall operations of the business.Maintain and demonstrate high levels of energy and enthusiasm at all times.Provide friendly, personal, and efficient service that exceeds expectations.Ensure that the grounds are clean and inviting at all times.Keep the exterior of the lodge, boathouse, cabins,and public areas well-maintained as per the duties outlined on the dockhand checklist.Overseeing all day-to-day operations of the site, including all maintenance and grounds work.Maintaining and following conservation standards for Reindeer Lake.Any other duties as required.Being remote provides some unique challenges. We are looking for someone that is a natural problem solver, No problem is too big!!!You are someone who values exceeding client expectations and has knowledge and experience in fishing and outdoor adventures.You possess strong interpersonal, communication skills and are self-motivated.Your skills and interests are just as important as your day-to-day jobs.You are experienced in successfully operating property and maintaining financial viability.You must be a team player who can lead a team and are able to work remotely with mínimal supervision.General Maintenance and Tasks:Perform outside maintenance as necessary in coordination with the Lodge Owners.Advise the Lodge Owners of any issues with systems, grounds, and repairs that need to be addressed.Advise andwork with the Lodge Owners on any upgrades and new projects.Trouble-shoot minor problems with all basic lodge systems (water line, generator, motors, boats, airstrip, etc.)Inspecting camp, creating and maintaining projects lists and everyday schedules for yourself and the team.Team Work/Communication:Communicate with all staff on a daily basis about upcoming guests, and groups, to schedule jobs and maintenance prior to guest arrivals.Communicate daily with the Office staff for all guest needs.Complete occasional meetings and evaluations with staff.Resolve team conflict respectfully and effectively.Administration and Risk Management:Communicate any incidents clearly to Lodge Owners.Reflect at all times on a commitment to risk management and safety.Report any unsafe conditions to the Lodge Owners and follow up to ensure that they are taken care of.Respect all machinery and equipment, report damage and maintenance issues immediately to Lodge Owners.Reflect at all times a commitment and respect to environmental sustainability.Inspect all buildings in camp for care, maintenance, and upkeep.Reviewing all systems regularly and operating within their confines (solar, power, water,Demonstrate good skill and safe practice when operating all company equipment.Oversee first aid,safety regimes, and guest and staff actions to ensure they are safe and responsible.Ensure all emergency plans are up to date.Q- ualifications- WHIMIS and MSDS Hazardous Waste Certificates.Knowledge in marketing and sales.Strong organizational skills.Valid driver's license.Intermediate to advanced computer skills (including MS Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word). Previous experience working/living in a remote location is considered an asset.5- years Management/Leadership experience preferably in remote camp or /hospitality industries.First Aid CertificationPrevious guiding experience considered an asset.Ability to lift 50 lbs.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Considerable experience and knowledge in fishing and an equivalent combination of education, training,and experience may be considered.Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.Experience in the fishing and wildlife industry.Experience in the tourism and hospitality industry.Accommodation and meals are provided.
