Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects.PROFILE SUMMARYThe Green Hydrogen Subject Matter Expert will have a deep knowledge and proven experience in Hydrogen technologies and support the delivery of consultancy assignments for large-scale Hydrogen projects worldwide.Using your deep technical knowledge of the technologies used for the production and use of Green Hydrogen, you will contribute - in close cooperation with other disciplines - to the development of feasibility and conceptual studies, preliminary design & cost estimate studies, techno-economic and hydrogen production models, technical Due Diligences and the provision of technical advisory services in accordance with the project requirements and any applicable statutory and regulatory specification.The position will be based in Madrid, with frequent travels to other locations.ACCOUNTABILITIESLeads large workstreams/areas of a technical assignment, including the execution of the following technical activities:Feasibility studies for the implementation of green hydrogen production plants and green derivates.Optimisation of the renewable energy source and energy storage systems which minimise the levelized cost of hydrogen or corresponding energy carrier.Assessing of the green chemicals potential offtakers for each particular project.Supporting in the site selection for the implementation of green chemicals production plants taking into account safety issues.Conceptual design of green hydrogen facilities, either integrated or not with other industries, entailing the development of heat and material balances, equipment and pipelines sizing and layouts.Optioneering assessment of cooling systems and water sources for the electrolysis process and other plants such as green ammonia synthesis, methanol and MtG.Technologists evaluation processes, including electrolysers OEM contact and techno-economic tabulations.Support in the cost estimate of green hydrogen facilities.Support in the electrical supply and single line diagrams definition.Participation in HAZID and risks workshops.Technical dossier preparation for funding/subsidies applications.FEED phase support as hydrogen SME.Develops internal team members technical capabilities. Participates in the preparation and delivery of proposals and presentations.Contributes to the development and management of client relationships.Deliver and/or review of technical inputs and reports, timely and with the adequate quality.Ensure compliance with Worley's standards and procedures, and that the right systems are in place and applied to the project. Support the development, preparation, implementation and follow-up of various plans (e.g. schedule, quality, execution, project and interface management) throughout the project during different stages and with all components.ACADEMIC BACKGROUNDEngineering Degree required. Master of Science preferred.LANGUAGESFluid English is a requirement (written and spoken) and Spanish is preferred (written and spoken); other languages (Arabic, French, others) are a plus.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCEPower & Renewable Energy technologies experience, particularly in the detailed design and/or construction of large projects, is preferred but not mandatory.Technical Advisory experience (e.g. PMC, Owners Engineer, LTA, etc.) is preferred, but not mandatory.International experience is required (multinational companies or across different countries and professional cultures). Middle East / Arabian Gulf experience is an asset.TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGEDeep knowledge of hydrogen produced by electrolysis technologies and markets state of art.Good knowledge of process design calculations including the use of software such as HYSYS or similar.Good knowledge of international hydrogen policies and regulatory framework.Good knowledge of renewable energy sources and energy back-up options.Good knowledge of traditional (grey) hydrogen and oxygen production and end users will be valuableKnowledge of carbon capture and processes such as ammonia, methanol, synthetic fuels production will be valuable.Knowledge of compressors, water treatment plants and gas storage systems design will be valuable.Knowledge of cost estimating and/or safety modelling will be valuable.SOFT SKILLSPro-active, practical hands-on approach and results-driven.Works with great degree of independence, conferring with manager on complex assignments.Technical / hands-on profile with good communication are key requirements for this role.Responsible and honest.Must be a self-starter, with the ability to take responsibility for its own work, open to creativity.Good communication skills and an aptitude for taking initiatives are essential, as is the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
