Laminoria For our operation in Spain and Portugal, we are looking for a reliable Safety Manager. The Manager Health & Safety will plan, coordinate and manage the activities within the global H&S framework and execute these programs for Spain and Portugal as well as establish and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for every employee, contractor and visitor.
We are looking for Health & Safety manager who has proven experience in safety management with a deep understanding of global health and safety guidelines as well as legislation in Spain. We are looking for candidates who are skilled in data analysis & risk assessment as well have excellent Spanish as well as English language skills.
This is an opportunity for the right candidate who is looking to join a team within an international organization to help support this dynamic operation.
This role will be located in our operations in Vitoria - however, monthly travel to our other plants within Spain and Portugal will be expected .
Role Purpose: The Manager Health & Safety– Cluster, will plan, coordinate and manage the activities within the global H&S program for his/her cluster as well as establish and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for every employee, contractor and visitor. Ensure that workplaces adhere to local, global and all relevant safe & healthy standards, guidelines and regulations. This position will work together with other Stakeholders within Operations as well as working together with sustainability function.
Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate and manage the activities within the global HS program for Spain and Portugal.
Perform site visits, field observations, process confirmations, safety supervision and attend regularly shift/handover/daily operations meetings.
Work closely together with the Geographical-Functional HSBP and other cluster HSBPs of their subregion to ensure local programs are aligned with the (global) Sibelco HS Strategy, Program, Standards and Tools.
Draft the HS roadmap for all sites in their cluster and clearly define priority areas and resources to allow defining Capex needs.
Advise, risk assess and evaluate local projects with impact on HS, where needed in conjunction with operators, supervisors and local Ops leadership.
Follow up legal local requirements, report gaps and assist the cluster in developing and execute action plans in conjunction with local stakeholders.
Ensure HS training programs are correctly rolled out in their area.
Ensure correct data on HS performance of his/her area and timely reporting of HS KPIs.
Manage, follow up and monitor the reporting and investigation of HS incidents in accordance with Sibelco Standards and local legislation. 
Discuss the gaps and develop mitigation plans to ensure alignment with Sibelco HS objectives.
About you: Bachelor's and/or Master degree in Engineering or a similar relevant field is preferred
Technical or bachelor degree in HS, IH or a related environmental disciplines (Environmental)
5-10 years professional experience as well as proven track record of experience in Health & Safety
Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines in Spain (understanding of Portuguese guideline is a plus)
Understanding of Sustainability legislation is an advantage
Strong interpersonal skills & ability to build good working relationships to effectively collaborate with teams as well as with leadership
Excellent communication skills & fluency in both written and spoken Spanish & English is required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
Strong organizational, problem-solving and motivational skills
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
Diplomatic, self-motivated & action oriented
Be able to work independently as well as collaborate with a dispersed team
Good time management as well as ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Flexibility to travel to support other Sibelco offices across Spain and Portugal
