Internship - Operations Polymer - ESPIn the Cartagena Industrial complex we develop and manufacture high-quality engineering thermoplastic materials that are respectful of the environment. DEPARTMENT Operations - Polymer JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES The mission of this internship is to support the Polymer Unit daily operations in improving the transport of Feedstock (pellets) from different silos of the Polymer unit to the Compouding Plant on site. The transportation of final product from Polymer to Compouding plant has generated leakages and breakages in the expansion joints of the pipeline and blockage of the material. After implementing some improvements as new expansion joint material or maintenance reparation the problem has happened again because the root cause has not been identified. There are studies done and material available to be consulted : Inspection department report Technical department study Leakage reduction program To produce in an optimised and reliable way, it is necessary to thoroughly study the design, fine-tune the parameters of the conveying system to avoid line blockages and create a testing protocol plan. Main Responsibilities: Assesses and analyzes specific assigned project. Collects relevant data, history trends, process information, and other data to identify or troubleshoot process problems Identifies improvement opportunities, provides justification, propose solutions and improvements and translates these into actions/projects/protocol plans. Maintains regular daily communication/meetings with operations to ensure progress and implementation of the actions. Generates reports, coordinates own activities with other operating groups (EHSS, Operations, Maintenance, etc.) What are we looking for?! We are looking for an Intern who can create a testing protocol plan produced in an optimised and reliable way. When would the Internship start? July 1st 2024 When would the Internship finish? September 30th 2024 The duration of the Internship is 3 months and there will be an evaluation at the end of the Internship. REQUIREMENTS SABIC is looking for a hands on student that communicates well Excellent knowledge of the English language, both verbal and in writing (as well as Spanish) Preferred backgrounds are Technical Bachelor and/or Master's Degree in Industrial/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering Good Understanding of Manufacturing operations, process equipment and technology.
