Position Overview:
Support the commissioning and implementation of Intralogistics Automation / IDEA solutions for introducing intelligent automation into EU & Africa JIT and Structures Plants, as part of the EU IDEA strategy. Working as part of the Intralogistics team, this includes supporting the Intralogistics team in executing successful project implementations, responsible for ensuring equipment and facilities needed at the plants are installed safely and correctly, support the team in ensuring that the projects are delivered as expected and on time, providing technical support (software & hardware) for local maintenance, reporting out to Project and Plant Management, communication with Suppliers, making improvements to and providing recommendations to operational procedures, feedback of lessons learned and opportunities to refine the standard solutions.
Key Tasks • Support the execution and commissioning of approved business cases with a primary focus on driverless transport systems (AGV/AMR).
• Make recommendations to operational procedures and technical/IT evaluation of solutions
• Creating and implementing test procedures.
• Commissioning of driverless transport systems in Lear plants
• Installation of configurations (also with remote support)
• Installing and testing the driving course
• Carrying out driving and function tests with and without loads
• Error analysis and resolution
• Creating customer-specific documentation and training documents
• Start-up support and training for the plant team
• Provides technical support in case of issues and process/ layout changes
• Ensure that the project scope description & timing for each project are met.
• Contact with external integrator/supplier with regards to technical, IT and process questions.
• Collecting and analysis performance and safety data.
• Ensure all AME / ILA Standards are adhered to, or signed deviation is issued.
• Ensures all Lear EHS standard and local authority regulations are complied with, during all projects.
• Actively use the Project Management standards defined for AME IDEA projects.
• Support creation of technical specs for automated solution.
• Support rollout of standard solution into other Lear locations and programs (future).
• Flawless launch and zero Customer impact
• Support the creation of Intralogistics Automation Playbook, aligned to Corporate IDEA direction, as required.
• Working closely with AME / ILA Team to create automation design standards to be applied to projects.
• Working with the key Plant/Central stakeholders, ensure all documentation is correct and understood.
• Support development of Equipment, Automation and Process Standards by ensuring robust feedback from lessons learned during project commissioning and execution.
Key Requirements • Degree in Technical Field
• Experience in Industry 4.0 projects (especially AGV/AMR) in manufacturing company would be a huge advantage
• Experience in industrial engineering / automation / robotics/ CI / Lean)
• Willingness and flexibility to travel within the role (up to 50%)
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive, hands-on approach
• Good communicator – comfortable in presenting to all levels within the business
