All programs are in high demand, experiencing rapid growth, and attract students with high entry qualifications.Why Your Role Matters:The School of the Arts and Media is seeking a Lecturer Level B in Journalism and Communication to contribute to teaching and research in our media programs.You will have a strong national and international profile and specialised expertise in one or more of the following areas: data and interactive journalism, artificial intelligence in journalism, social media and journalism. Industry practice and experience will be essential; ideally, you will possess skills and experience across practice/research/theory.Experience and/or capacity to teach large courses at an introductory level in an area of journalism and communication or practice is required. You will be expected to undertake and produce high-level research in a relevant field of journalism and communication and be able to demonstrate a successful track record of grants and publications.In this role you will contribute to teaching relevant media courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and in the supervision of Honours and higher degree research students, and work closely with other members of the media academic and professional staff to further develop media course offerings.Specific accountabilities for this role include:Apply a well-defined teaching philosophy and a critically reflective teaching practice that inspires student learning.Coordinating and teaching courses within the School.Design and develop learning activities and resources and provide assessment and feedback at both course and program levels using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments.Manage course administration, including academic quality assurance.Maintain and develop links within the discipline industry and profession
