About the role :As a Manager Research Analyst, your objective and independent research on open-end index funds and ETFs will help individuals, intermediaries, and institutional investors make better investment decisions, which is Morningstar's primary mission.The position requires an interest in the funds market along with strong analytical, presentational, operational, and writing skills.In this role, you will research and rate equity passive funds, while also develop broader investment industry expertise that contributes to the team's thought leadership.The Manager Research Analyst will also be responsible for improving our operational goals to help scale Morningstar's ratings and research products.Job responsibilities :Be a subject-matter expert on Morningstar's forward-looking ratings on funds based on research that focuses on the funds' management, strategy, parent company, performance, and expensesConduct quantitative and qualitative analysis using our databases, monitoring regulatory information, and conducting on-site due diligence visits of asset-management firmsAuthor research reports, articles, and industry studiesDrive innovation and best practices to achieve strategic business objectivesHandle data cleaning projects to improve our products and processesQualifications :Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceExperience reviewing, cleaning, and understanding data to build dashboards and write reportsProven ability to work cross-functionally to understand business requirements and translate them to effective use of applicationsClear communicator with excellent written, verbal, and listening skillsAbility to work at times independently, and at other times within a collaborative environmentStrong project management and task organization skills with the ability to manage projects to a deadlinePassionate about technology, data, and processesNice to have :Proficiency in Python, SQL, AWS, Jupyter NotebooksBusiness strategy, familiarity with Morningstar's products, and / or operations experience preferred301 MstarEurLtd Morningstar Europe Ltd (UK) Legal EntityMorningstar's hybrid work environment gives you the opportunity to work remotely and collaborate in-person each week.
